Yeah - Jeffries and Cook are so exactly the same!

One guy is exclusively a shooter who can't defend.

The other guy is exclusively a defender and can't shoot.

    Correct.

No worries ;) ...JJ can be VERY valuable either as a trade asset or player because he does the dirty work, not his fault someone offered him a ridiculous contract.

Brian Cook is by far the worst player EVER to donn a rockets jersey in the last decade.

Jeffries is not terrible but he isnt good either but that is still loads better than cook.

I mean cook only played in major blowouts nothing else

man y'all have no idea man Cook is EL TERIBLE

I would have JJ any day of the week at least Jeffries can help you play defense. Cook cant score points and gives up 50

    Dear Mr. Thread Starter:

JJ may not drop fiddy - or even 15 a game, but the dude is a defensive juggernaut.

    Bleacher Report

I watched a lot of this dude's college games, and he's a defensive bad ass, much more versatile as a defender than Artest or Battier - not as good as they are are guarding 2-3 spot players, but JJ makes us better by being able to rotate of his man in P-N-R situations without us having to worry about mismatches.

This is seriously important to remember. Yes, we overpaid fo JJ, but K-Mart came with a price. Let's get Yao back, and you'll see how good we'll be again.

    Chill out man,

    Philip

Give Jared time before concluding that He is the new Cook. He may still give quality minutes and hopefully develop some offensive moves by next year.

    That's a pretty bold statement.
    -Ryan Bowen
    -Lonny Baxter
    -Rick Brunson
    -Richie Frahm
    -Loren Woods
    -Jake Tsakalidis

Just right off the back some players that come to mind. If I had to vote, I would put money on Jake. He was the worst player that I have seen recently in a Rocket uniform. He could not do anything. Still have nightmares of having him block his own shots on the rim, and miss point black layups. How the hell does a 7 plus fellow miss layups seems to be one of the most mind boggling mysteries of the world.

JJ certainly isn't the best player by any means, but he's worlds apart from BC.

BC was almost as good of a cheerleader as Deke, though. :)

I just don't get it. JJ or BC should be way down the lists of concerns for Rox fans. They were both throw ins on deals to make the money work and some of you act like they were who we traded for. When JJ starts turning the ball over in the final minutes of a close game or taking ill advised shots with plenty of time on the clock then let's talk about him.

JJ seems to be gifted in size and basketball IQ, but lacking in over talent and skill. I can really appreciate that in a player. He's in there for his effort.

To me, it says alot that he was in the rotation before Hill and Armstrong. I got the impression that he was able to grasp the plays and what the Rockets wanted to accomplish rather quickly.

IMO, JJ is way better than Cook.

However, I love the    look on JJ's face when he misses an easy layup and tries to explain to his teammates what happened. Like, it is the last time it's going to happen.

I sure his teammates just look back at him like  :( every time he misses a wide open layup.

Disagree that Cook = Jeffries. In fact, Jeffries would make a great billboard for a new Rockets ad campaign.

Jared Jeffries. Twice the salary. Half the suck.

    Well, it has begun.

I knew it was only a matter of time before people stupidly started creating threads about how Jared Jeffries is overpaid and not that good.

News Flash: EVERYONE ON THE F'ING PLANET KNOWS THIS.

Leaving aside for a minute that Jeffries is actually a pretty good defender who can be a quality ninth man on a winning team, did people just forget WHY he is a Houston Rocket?

THE TEAM GOT POTENTIALLY 3 FREAKIN' LOTTERY PICKS FOR TAKING ON HIS CONTRACT!!!

Frankly, I don't care how overpaid he is or how much he sucks. Acquiring Jared Jeffries was one of the greatest management decisions by any GM in the league in the last decade. No joke. IMHO, it ranks up there in the "Pau Gasol trade" stratosphere.

Memo to all those who are only looking at the team on the floor this season: WAKE UP! Embrace the fact that taking on Jeffries's contract has set this franchise up beautifully for the next decade.

Don't think anyone said acquiring him in trade was a bad move.

Thus my Charles Smith comparison - (Smith, though more skilled than Jeffries, will always be forever known for missing/getting stuffed on 4 point-blank 'lay-ups' against the '93 Bulls; when everyone was yelling 'Dunk the mf'er'! towards him).

JJ needs to work on his DUNKing and basic aggressiveness.

I still can't understand why people spend so much time and effort dissing the end of the bench players...Andersen, Jeffries, etc...

How about you give a little blame to the players who actually play enough to impact the game?
