Okay, okay. A-Train if you really REALLY don't want to continue as the President of M*A*S*H I would officially like to throw might hat into consideration for the presidential position. The Francis hate has got to me as well and I think I'm ready for the challenge of defending our Franchise player.

Hey, since I'm the Vice Prez, and A-T stepped down, doesn't that make me Prez? Like Cheney, I've been out of sight for a couple of weeks, so don't hold that against me. It's not about the leader though, it's about the cause.

I am not throwing my hat in for the presidency of the M*A*S*H* club.

I am going ahead and asserting myself as President of the club.

    I thank you.

i'll stay in my position. oski should be promoted since he was vp, but a-train should be given his office back if he chooses to return. :)

other than leaving vancouver, name one.

no player in the league is beyond criticism. steve needs to work on some things to become a premier player, notabaly defense, and big time. but if you objectivally evaluate our team since he's been here we're on the correct path.

rookie season - we didn't make the playoffs. is it steve's fault as a rookie to not lead us there? we expected to have 3 hall of famers on that team, but we ended up with less than half of one in dream.

2nd season - the team looks good, real good. steve increases his numbers across the board and with hakeem as an inside precense leads this team to the best record EVER to not make the playoffs and in a big man heavy conference. not bad considering, we were still "rebuilding."

3rd season - steve is out alot, the team plays it's third string almost as much as the first. we feature the most lineup changes in the league. steve puts up great numbers but is labeled as selfish for trying to take over for his struggling teammates. as early as the previous offseason he was labeled as too unselfish. make up your minds. is it his fault we didn't make the playoffs?

i don't see the problem. it's not as simple as what have you done for us, how come were not in the playoffs? hakeem went through a bit longer than a 3 year stretch with no playoffs, but we ended up pretty well.

There are over 6000 registered users here and just becuase a small portion of them are bashing players..ALL the fans here are bad??

    Talk about over-reacting

Most of us here are TRUE fans..we support the team...not necessarily the players...but as long as they wear the pjs..we are with them..
I worry sometimes about what they mean when they say stuff, but I aint gonna just jump all in their sh*t because of it...

I can be patient and wait till they make a pippen-style scene..then I'm all over em like stink on...well you know...

I just wish more of my CC.net brethren were of the same attitude.:(

Answer this, what do you think Steve should have said? If he did not like Ming and a reporter asked him about Ming what should he say? Should he lie and say “yeah he’s great” or should he say what’s really on his mind.

Its not Steve’s job to say what ever he thinks will make people happy. He has the right to say what ever he wants.

You have the right to disagree with him and the right to come here and say so. But its stupid to say, “he’s immature”, “trade him for Wang Zhi Zhi” or “good riddance”. When in the history of sports did you hear of a team trading their all-star and franchise player because he did not like a draft pick.

So I guess the next time you are making a deal AGENT 86 and someone says yeah he's trustworthy I GUESS......
That's going to be allright with you?
I'd be thinking I better explore other options.

Another selfish decision Steve's made-Driving on drugs-legal or illegaL-IT'S A SELFISH THING TO DO THAT COULD HAVE GOT EITHER HIM OR SOMEONE ELSE KILLED.

Also he pressed mgmnt. to sign and re-sign his boys and now he's questioning mgmnt.

He is more worried about his marketing than his headaches.

Had his best winning season with a big guy and is not smart enough to realize he needs another one because?

What was the outcome of that trial? I am a convicted felon, but Steve isn't a convicted anything. Judge someone like me before you judge him, but I suggest you judge no one but yourself, especially when the State of Texas has already passed its judgement on that person.

I didn't say he was convicted of crap! I said he was SELFISH for endangering his and the life of others.

And if you want to talk about courts and superstars if you can find me OJ's wifes killer, I'll consider your conviction point until then sport stars get off everyday.

DT is right, Francis wasn't convicted of anything. Hell I don't even drink and I've been stopped by the cops for "looking like I was driving under the influence". Whatever the hell that means:confused:

    - Dave F, Shaq has tried to dictate mangement decesions in both Orlando & LA, KG said his manegnment sucks and they are not doing there jobs even though they got in trouble signing his boy Smith under the table. Kobe came into the league dictating that he'd only play for LA, NY, or Chi. TMac said the rest of his teammates were "nothing" in the middle of a playoff series. Has Francis been that bad? If one of those guys played for the Rocks would you want to send them packing? C'mon be serious about the situation. Francis is checking his options before he makes a huge decesion. And whats the big deal w/ the Mayo Clinic? We already knew he had vertigo and he still went there 2 MONTHS before the season starts. It's not like he pulled an AI and got surgery a couple of weeks before the start of the season.

That's exactly why I responded to your post: you were judging him unbeknownst to the true and whole situation. But I totally agree with you that drunk/intoxicated driving is one of the worst offenses imaginable. I am one of the biggest advocates against it, as a matter of fact. I'm not trying to piss you or anybody off, but you touched on one of my most sensitive subjects, so I had to respond. I still like ya:)

Steve has been with the rockets for 3 years. The coaching staff and the GM team know Steve Francis a million times better then we do. They know if he's trustworthy or not.

steve was never charged. we don't know if he had one beer or how many, maybe he was perfectly capable of driving.

2.so are you management? is this fact or are you making up stuff?who has he pressured into signing that we wouldn't have signed anyways? mobley? no he's pretty darn good. moochie? no he was a hell of a backup for us. i think a championship organization such as the rockets puts more stock into their scouts and management than francis.

when has this ever been documented. how is this even specualtion other than people like yourself starting this crap. unbelievable.

see, now you're just running out of material.

why do you hate this player so much that you have to put out so much BS. if you want to criticize steve, crack on his defense. that's what needs work. this selfish, no heart stuff is ridiculous considering what we see every time he steps on the court.

Sorry Big M, but you couldn't prove one thing I said wrong. I love Steve's game, I think he will get better.

ONCE AGAIN i didn't say he was convicted of anything but he was enough something to be arrested was he not?

I thought he endorsed Cat, Mooch, MoT, and perhaps suggested TMo.He wanted him their here, and now he's questioning the direction of this team.

Houston is the dog of the NBA?Marketing and publicity wise? Let's face it our play and record hasn't warranted any respect!

NOW THIS IS SPECULATION--NOONE IS BUYING STEVES SHOES AND HE"S PISSED THE ROCKETS DON"T GET GAMES ON T>V> SO HE CAN SHOW OFF HIS MAD HOPS AND SELL SOME MORE SHOES.

HERE"S SOME MATERIAL FOR YOU--when Dream began kickking it in, we ended up winning 45 games.Yet Steve didn't want a big man this draft and he hasn't expressed any need for a big man--HE WANTED ODOM.Another guard,I mean give me a break. But notice the idea of Steve and Cat on the wings--more show time, more shoes. Come on Big M relax, IT IS POSSIBLE HE IS NOT PERFECT and it is possible that I can be objective about Steve and still love his game. If you watched a game with me you would notice I praise him the whole game, but if he makes a stupid mistake I will yell WTF are you doing..... why? Because I expect a FRANCHISE player 48 minutes.

I love Steve Francis and I love him on the Rockets. I think he was the smartest GM decision since the Drexler trade. Question the guy, but please don't hate him and I don't mean "player hate" or some bs like that. He plays his heart out in front of guys like us year after year and he'll do it as long as we support him.
