I keep seeing trade proposals that involve sending Shandon to another team.

The Rockets CANNOT trade Shandon unless he specifically asks them to do it!

Trading Shandon would be about as backstabbing a thing that an NBA team could do. He came to the Rockets for virtually nothing when you consider opportunity costs. The Rockets owe him special treatment because they are not giving him money. That means that they cannot and will not send him to NBA hell (the other LA team). So cut it out you guys!

Damn right. Shandon really found his spot on the team. He plays a complete game, and scores when he can. I hope to see him on this team for 8+ years.

Would you please calm down? The only reason anyone said they wouldn't do that last deal was the disloyalty to Shandon, and they would only do it if he happily accepted. I hate to give him up, but if he's willing, it could be the ticket to landing a star. I am a huge Shandon fan, but you have to make sacrifices.

Why don't you read what people said on the Raptors/Rockets trade thread? If Shandon has somewhere else he'd like to go(maybe Atlanta his home), a third team could get involved.

"Exactely.....Doh"(from the auditions for Burns). I also want Shan Shan to stay. The Rockets have to keep their core guard lineup of Stevie, Cat, Shan and Moochie.

If it helps the team trade him. Loyalty is admirable, but if Shandon was such a loyal person he would have stayed in Utah. If Houston was so loyal where is Othella?

The NBA is a business. Decisions are made to improve your team, not to make the millionalr players happy.

Loyalty to stay in Utah?? it seems to me he paid his dues to Utah--it's after you make a choice, like free agency and taking a smaller contract, that you can talk about long term committment.

Let's talk about an everyday man's job: he/she graduates, works for three years in an important role but not necessarily where he/she wants to be. Three years is a long enough time. (I'll switch to 2nd person here) Who's going to tell you that you should stay when you've got a great opportunity elsewhere, with a great boss, great personnel (young like you)? You're only going to get older, and you can tell your current organization isn't as progressive as the next? OK,OK, maybe your old boss.

That said, too many people underestimate Snadon's worth because defensive stats, team player stats, etc. just aren't as obviously seen from a box score as points, but they are just as important. Their importance rises when you don't have many players like that on the team, and there are even fewer to pick from in the league.

Loyalty in sports is non-existent. If Shandon was loyal he would have stayed with the team that drafted him and had offered to pay him more.
You ask why did he leave? Because he knew in a couple of years they wouldn't be good (after Stockton & Malone age and retire).

If what you atre describing as loyalty is only fulfilling a contract, then how would you feel in 4 years if Francis says thanks, but no thanks I'm going to (insert any other NBA team here), even if we offered him more money. Is that loyalty?

Again my point is there is no loyalty in sports. It is a business, plain & simple.

TRUE loyalty may indeed be a myth.

But the perception of loyalty is most assuradely alive and kicking.

Shandon, Othella, Barkley etc..all signed contracts for less then their value with the hopes..(wink, wink) that they would be taken care of, and in every case to date, they were.

The Rockets are PERCIEVED to be a loyal/classy organization. I would not want to threaten that by trading Shandon Anderson. We need role players who don't need the ball to be successful.

Shandon will not be traded so you mite as well take it off those trade boards. Shandon Francis and Mobley are the players to build around.

Houston owed no loyalty to Othella.

Just look for Dr of Dunk or BobFinn* threads and that should fulfill those requirements.

PS If anyone talks about trading Shandon you will go blind, lol, shame on you, what a joke, if it makes the team better pull the trigger, if an offer is good enough no one in the league is un-tradable

    Testify!!!

To All of You Undercover Jazz Fans Concocting Shandon Anderson Trade Scenarios --

I tremble to think how far back this team would be set if they were trade Shandon Anderson. Using the equality:

Shandon Anderson = hustle = heart

    ...and...

Houston Rockets = Heart of a Champion

    ...I find...

Shandon Anderson + Houston Rockets = Champions

Don't check my math, just trust me [IMG]

    Finally, some statistics I understand.

But what if the Rockets traded Shandon for someone with little difference in statistical significance?

    OH NO!

anyways, Shandon will not be traded unless he WANTS to be, and I think he likes it in Houston. Im pretty sure Barkley showed him enuff nudie bars to make Shandons stay worthwhile.

I think everyone is confused between shopping Shandon, which none of us want and trading him if their was a super offer on the table, for example would any of you be interested in Anderson, Cato and Walt for #1 draft pick (keynon) and Kittles and Feick???

    Smeg

    PS Love the maths

Yeah why trade Shandon Anderson. He is a very good basketball player. Shandon Anderson came to the Rockets so he will have fun.
