He's been fantastic this season. Hard to believe he's only 25 since it seems like he's been in the league for a while now.

Bogut is definitely underrated. Hopefully we get to see him in the playoffs this year.

I'll tell my new dates that I am a per minute BEAST like Oden. Let's see how that goes down.

Being great for 1 or 1.5 quarters is ok. Oden should have been a beast for the whole game, but he's Sam Bowie reborn. He's fantastic for 1 quarter, but can't play more than 2 quarters without breaking something.

When he was drafted he came out and said he was the best Australian player ever already. Funnily enough, this really upset the old guys that were playing in the Australian league well into their 40's.

He was right though, you didn't need to know much about basketball to know he was right at the time!

I expected him to be an ok player, probably a mid range center, but his numbers lately are ridiculous!

    This.

Bogut has always been a very good NBA player but has never had the opportunity to fully display his offensive skills in a system where the guards hogged the ball and never set up their big men.

Tim Legler is right when he said last night that, aside from Dwight Howard and Yao Ming, there isn't another center in the league that you can say is clearly better than Andrew Bogut. (Now, if you're counting Pau Gasol as a center, I'd put him ahead of Bogut, but you get the point.)

I think Bogut will end up getting the "Hakeem respect" of not being criticized for being drafted ahead of either Deron Williams or Chris Paul (the 2005 versions of Michael Jordan, from a draft standpoint). That distinction will be reserved for Marvin Williams.

If the bucks had a two guard who can nail 3s then theyd be consistent playoff contenders in the east

He used to be treated as a white Duncan, now, the white Duncan showed up...

He's been impressive no doubt. It does seem like he's definitely been in the league forever but he's coming into his own now. It'd be nice if he was Yao's backup :p

Now I shouldnt even say anything, because I bet Bima that you saw this coming, and I know that you know better, but we cannot include those two in the same sentence. Maybe something along the lines of Bogut will not get the Sam Bowie treatment would suffice. Or Bogut (Four Sentences later, no dammit FOur paragraphs later, now I can't even say his name because it would be in this general proximity). Yes my unnamed Rocket legend respect goes this far, perhaps not on the level of a certain heartless character from Oz, but still -

The thing is, Hakeem and Jordan are regarded as the best centers ever. It's foolish in my opinion for anyone to say we could have done better with Jordan. Hakeem was definitely the right choice at the time, and we got exactly what we wanted from him if not more.

Bogut is only beginning to meet what was expected of him. The question now is whether his performance is sustainable.

He's actually healthy for once. Yao could be better if he was completely healthy too, let's hope for the best. This bucks team is nothing to mess with come next season though.

    There line up is solid:
    Jennings
    Redd
    Salmons
    Hakim Warrick
    Bogut

He's pretty good, especially as of late.
Even so, his teammates don't give a F...

Yes. I think he's top two...maybe top 3 if you count Gasol as a C.

I would enjoy watching this team, but i really question if Michael Redd can come back after 2 knee injuries in two years. As much as i want to believe he can make it back, i just dont know if he could come back and be half of what he used to be... which was a above average player in the league. On a side not, John Salmons has played great for the Bucks and brings another 3 pt shooter to the team. Even if you insert Delfino in for read next year, your looking at a young team that is gonna get even better!!!!

I don't get it. Plus I don't think the poster you're replying to was implying that Hakeem was the wrong choice. He was saying that Hakeem was the best choice for us even taking Jordan's greatness into consideration.

Warrick is solid but Redd is Kevin Martin without the fts and even worse defense. Dude would have been the perfect sidekick to LBJ but as a main man on the offense he failed miserably.
