If you're a unrestricted free agent this summer. You want to win a championship soon, you also want a team that will be very good for the future also since you are young. You also want to make as much money as possible. You are a sponsors dream. You want as many endorsements as you can get. You also want to be a global icon not just an American legend. Do you choose Team A or Team B?

    Team A:
your team will be espn's #1 lovefest team, your team will be Sports Illustrated's #1 lovefest team, you will pay state income taxes heavily on your new contract, and over the next 6 years you lose estimated 30 million on your contract as opposed to signing and trading with team B.

You will play with zero allstars, zero international stars, in fact, your team will have the equivalent to 10 nbdl players with you and maybe Joe Johnson. You will have either Rudy Gay or Joe Johnson and then 10 nbdl players since your team will have to renounce its rights to its only good player now its center (who I think is overrated btw)

You will have to play your home town team 4 times a year and get booed. You will not EVER win a championship. You will be espns darling though.

You will get ALL the endorsements, but then again, you already do. You will not be popular in China as with team B. You coach stresses zero defense. From your teams fans perspective, your coach is hated.

Your team has zero future. They have traded every draft pick till year 2013. If they want a semi productive center(who is overrated) then you wont have Joe Johnson.
    .........................................
    Team B:
has Team A's draft picks in 2011,2012 plus its own picks in 2010,2012 . Great future. Best gm in nba. Lottery pick in 2010 for future. 2 young pg's , one of which is a borderline allstar.

Is a global team. Most watched team in China. loved by 1.5 billion people in china alone. In America, espn hates this team and so does Sports illustrated.

You will still get the endorsements you do now, plus even more from China. You will have a legit center who last year was the 2nd best center in league and in head to head against the best center actually comes out on top.

You will have a borderline allstar at sg,so you can play small forward. Your sg is one of the most efficient players in the league. Your pf is a very good player. All the players on this team are unselfish. The coach is a Hall of Fame coach to be, and has been to the finals .

You will make 30 million over your contract than team A. Plus the popularity you will get playing with Chinas favorite athlete of all time. You might want to please espn playing for team A, but you will be a more global icon to reach your 1 billion dollars you want to earn in your career. You have an instant shot at championship.

Even when the teams stars start to get old,the gm is able to rebuild on the fly instead of reach the bottomless dump that team A is in right now.

You have an owner that will pay the luxary tax just like Team A. You also have a GREAT bench since like I said you have 2 great pg's,a 21 yr old 6th man,and plenty room for improvement since this team is loaded with 1st round pics the next 3 years.

You will still be on national tv every night since you are the best player in the league, so playing for the bigger market team A is irrelevant. You have the ability to turn even the smallest markets into entertaining national market because you are the best player in the league.

This thread could have been simplified:

If you're LeBron James, do you go to the Knicks or try and go to the Rockets via S&T?

The answer: you stay with Cleveland.

If you do a sign and trade, alot of those assests you mentioned would be gone. If Cle agreed to a trade they would need a bonanza in return. As long as the majority of the key places remain in place (i.e. Yao, Scola, and either Brooks or Martin) then it would make for interesting conversation.

    Still a fairytale IMO

Lebron is not coming to Houston.

0.000000000000% chance he will. So it doesn't matter what YOU think or how the Rockets are the logical choice in YOUR mind. It's not happening..

Simply put, Lebron will not leave the Cavs for the Rockets. Look at it this way. Lebron will only CONSIDER leaving the Cavs for a very few select teams. New York is one of them. I still think its unlikely, but its possible.

What a stupid thread...Lebron has more than two teams to choose from than just the Rockets and the Knicks....

basically team is the knicks and team b is the rockets? why not just state that from the get go instead of insinuating the fact, anyone who cares about winning wouldn't dare dream of going to ny, that team is years away from contending, harington and lee are decent enough players to stick with the team if they can, bring back tmac (if he gets healthier) and sign 2 max free agents and you have 5 decently good to really good players, but you have no legitimate center and no bench. one player can not win a championship, lebron and kobe have proven that.

if possible the rockets should try to sign and trade for johnson, i dont understand why anyone would not want to play alongside yao, he is dominate and unselfish, you want a ring or the ball? this summer is going to be fun!

This post is like a Rush Limbaugh monologue. Completely one sided, grossly misinformed and completely divorced from the reality of the issue at hand. I enjoyed it.
