The desperation is palpable and will continue. The crazies know once healthcare is passed, the party of NO will always be remembered for their obstruction to better America.

I think Limbaugh is doing a social experiment to see how stupid his listeners are.

He should try telling them that as soon as the ink dries from Obama's signature Commies will come and take away all guns, bibles, and health insurance.

I'm sure giddyup will come in soon with a crazy story beyond all stretches of the imagination about how Rush is right about this, or else just joking.

In other more important news, the D&D has once again met their Palin/Rush weekly quota.

That was so stupid I can't believe even Rush Limbaugh said it. He used the term "bloomin' idiots". That term would describe any listener that believed what he said. The guy has several screws loose.

Rush (and most Republicans) believe that the Senate Healthcare bill is the first step towards a single payer socialized system of medicine. Hell, Barry has said so himself (I'll use Huff post to make you happy ). If we move to a single payer system, then technically, everyone that currently has health insurance will lose their current health insurance. It really isn't that hard to figure out what he's saying here.

Well that's a made up connection. I'll start at the back end of this statement. Switching insurance isn't the same to losing insurance. So from the very conclusion you and Rush aren't making sense.

Furthermore Obama likes the idea of single payer, but this health care reform bill doesn't really move closer to that. There is nothing in the bill that makes it easier to enact single payer coverage.

Also single payer coverage is different than socialized medicine.

Sign this (healthy) guy up to switch insurance.

It's now risen to 22% of my employer's total compensation to me. And that doesn't include the premium *I* have to pay out of my monthly paycheck to help support it.

And then, when I've needed it (Blue Cross) with a back injury, it went ghost. Wouldn't do CRAP after countless hours on the phone and filling out forms. I've calculated what they would have needed to pay to support physical therapy for my back, compared to what I've paid in through myself and my employer over the last ten years: they would have needed to pay just 1 penny on the dollar, but they could not bring themselves to part with that much profit.

**** that. Please I hope some bill changes my "insurance."

Americans don't want health care reform jammed down their throats -- unless it's deep-fried.

It's sad to say, but Rush is one of the main "leaders" for conservatives. He rocks the boat every day with his hyperbole, lies and anger towards anything moderate.

People that listen to his "show" take his word as literal and spread the faulty logic all over the place. He must love that power. It's as easy for him to stretch the truth as it is for him to drive to his local Walgreens for a new Rx of Oxycotin.

It's equally sad when Rush is a keynote speaker.

It's just a matter of time before he joins the political bedlam of Fox News with Billy, Glenn and Sarah "Paris Hilton" Palin.

Even if that's true (which, of course, it isn't), socialized medicine doesn't mean people are UNINSURED. It means everyone gets insurance, which is kinda the exact opposite of what he said.

You're right, it's not hard to figure out what he's saying: what he's saying is a lie.

Sorry, like most of the universe, we don't read teabag fantasies into things, and are inconveniently weighed down by such annoyances as facts and reality.

It would be great if we got a single payer system though. Probably the most efficient way to do things overall.

    better and better

Limbaugh vows to flee the country if health care passes.

I’ll just tell you this, if this passes and it’s five years from now and all that stuff gets implemented — I am leaving the country. I’ll go to Costa Rica.

    BTW Rush...

If you become a citizen of Costa Rica you will be eligible for free health care as the Costa Rica Social Security System provides free medical services to all Costa Rican citizens. This free service is only available at certain hospitals and clinics though.

If you are a foreigner in Costa Rica but have residency in the country you are able to be granted access to the Costa Rica Social Security System health care plan at a small cost. . Resident foreigners must make small contributions to the Costa Rica Social Security System health care plan based on their income in order to be eligible for treatment and services under the plan. It is important to stress the only certain hospitals and clinics offer the free or low cost treatment for the Costa Rica Social Security System health care plan.

For those who are following this issue through the legislative process, is there a reason to sign up and pay for health insurance BEFORE you really need it-- as Rush suggests.

I've heard about the $700 fine (and Rush suggests it can escalate to some $5,000). Is there any suggestion of "jail time?"

Who would pay for health insurance before they needed it if they are allowed to sign up at the time of need? If this is the case, why would anyone buy the insurance ahead of need?
