I think the majority of Tracy's cans were too young to remember or have lived through the Rockets championship years. They know Rockets history, but didn't live it so they miss out on details like Hakeem fasting during Ramadan.
NBA basketball has to do more with entertainment than anything else, even winning. T-Mac entertained. He put on a show night in, and night out.
Oh t-mac is more entertaining than Magic Johnson? or Michael Jordan? or even Kobe Bryant? Is that why Kobe is ALWAYS on TV? You're right, T-mac does put on a show. It's called a comedy.
LOL, you KNOW I was joking. I know you do, I love to post what you think many casual Rockets fans believe. There are some out there, but most of them have moved on.
I said he did. Last time he put on a show was well over 5 years ago. Unfortunately, it only lasted one season for Rockets fans. He was good in the 07 playoffs, but not great.
T-Mac is just another one of your typical NBA players who believed they could get back on their God given gifts as opposed to refining themselves through hard work. I've said this thousands of times, T-Mac had every opportunity and tools available to succeed. From a natural talent point of view, he was one of the greatest to ever touch the world of basketball. He had great court awareness, amazing athleticism, a smooth shot with a lot of range, and very good body length. He also had very poor pain tolerance, an ego much bigger than his actual status of a player, a game softer than tofu, and a mentality of a spoiled rich kid.
9 games in 14 days so far. if he played tonight and wed, it will be 3 games in 4 nights. he hasn't played basically for 2 years so it's expected. if he misses many games after this, then it's worrisome. but ESPN says he'll be back on wed v. the spurs.
A team can't have him starting if he's going to be in and out of the lineup like that because of chemistry problems it creates. If he was to play for anyone next season, he should be used as an off-the-bench player.
there are two types of fans, one watches it purely for the entertainment, the other watches it simply because he loves the sport clearly you are the latter one. Most T-Mac fans(at least in my opinion) falls into the first category. They love T-Mac simply because he is entertaining(I agree to a certain degree). To them, watching a game is simply a great way to spend time with friends. Stop trying to lecture them on the history of the game because they simply don't care. There is nothing wrong with that either, after all, NBA is just an entertaining business. BTW, i think comparing T-Mac to Dream is unfair. Yes Dream is absolutely a more successful and accomplished player than T-Mac, but he played in a time when the bigs dominates the game more. He also plays a different position. It is hard to compare players that don't play the same game. For example, how do you compare Yao to Iverson? Shaq to Kobe?
On a serious note, I was going to ask people if they thought McGrady's attitude was rubbing off on the other Knicks. Is it a total coincidence the Knicks got blown out by the Nets with him in the lineup and then bounce back with a very good win tonight? This is why Adelman and the Rockets didn't want him back. The negative influence of his yoyo production and effort destroy team continuity and it's just better for all when everyone knows he won't play. I bet if he left the team and gave up on the season, all of the other Knicks and D'Antoni would breathe a sigh of relief.
