It feels as if there's not much to watch the Rockets for

Yes, Portland lost, but we lost a game to shorten the gap. Instead of X amount of games left, we now have X-1 amount of games left.

Man what cry-babies. This team has done everything in its power to stay relevant despite being dealt the worst hand in the NBA because the "stars" of the team are injury prone.

Then they suffer more injuries and are still trying to stay in it. You need to face facts, this team has serious deficiencies. Just accept them as they are and enjoy the fact they are not tanking and are playing to win almost every night.

As far as playoffs, "it aint over till its over 'till the maths don't match"

I kinda have given up hope of playoffs for a week now, after I saw how ridiculously easy Portland schedule will be for the next couple weeks plus the fact that they enjoy like 3 days off in a row one week and 4 days off in a row the next, it is highly unlikely we will catch them.

I still watch because they are my favorite team of any kind, I still have fun watching to see how kmart gels with this team and plus, I'm just a fan of the sport so regardless of weather there is playoff ramifications, I have fun watching anyways. Now do I plan my day around it? Naw, but if it's on and i'm at home, I still watch that over anything else.

On nba 2k10, I'm up 3-1 against the denver nuggest in the 1st round of the playoffs, so I'm kinda happy about that.

    meh,

I feel ya but, there is always a reason to watch. We all want the team to win, but you are more than smart enough to know this is a year to work and develop, and hopefully it would have been enough for a playoff push, sadly it doesn't look like it will happen. I like watching the budding chemistry with Martin and Brooks, young guys getting time(Hill) looked solid. Head up man, we will be contenders next year, but the team still needs our support now, and they absolutely deserve it with all they've given.

I think some of you are misunderstanding my post. It's not so much that I haven't been watching the Rockets this year, but rather what's there to watch for the last 20 games. Yes, I know this is a developmental year. But let's be honest, our players are already more or less developed.

Brooks is a great shooting PG who has trouble with other aspects of his game. He's not going to start passing like Steve Nash in the last 20 games. He may improve next year, but that's next year.

Lowry is a feisty little PG with great skills but lack the shooting touch. And let's be honest, he's not going to develop an outside jumper to end the season either.

Landry was fun to watch, and he's gone. I don't really care about how Martin fits in. He has the whole next season to truly fit in when Yao gets back and any changes we make to the roster. TBH, I really don't give a damn this year as long as he's healthy and puts up stats.

Budinger may be a great find, but I feel like he's kind of topped out for now. As a rookie, he's probably tired as hell right now. He won't be getting 30mpg and into the limelight. He'll develop in the offseason for sure(maybe even make a Martin-esque improvement). But I feel there's not much else to see for now.

Hill, IMO, is the only Rocket still unknown. And his stock to rise or drop dramatically to end the year.

So I find myself basically spending my time looking at potential picks in the 10-15 range. Checking out our cap situation and the status of potential FAs. And I've gotten to stop caring about what we're doing on the court. Which really sucks.

Ok so once again, I understand you being down, I do get it. But here it is, you are a Rockets fan, and from the stuff I've read of yours, a pretty damn big one. So that in itself is reason enough to watch. Win or lose we are fans and the team deserves our support. Plain and simple

If we hadn't lost Lowry or Ariza, then, we could've had something like what you're asking.

I think it's improper to look at development solely on a player-basis - the chemistry has to be in mind, as well. We've yet to see Lowry, Ariza, Brooks, Scola, Martin, Budinger, Battier play together. Lowry can potentially solve the ball distribution with Brooks and Martin. Battier's been solid (!; really, I'm surprised - he's actually been turning it up the past few games) but Ariza also does things very differently.

I don't really know what you want to hear. I'm looking forward to seeing what these guys can do the next 20 games. Lowry has been a huge part of our success this year, and he hasn't even been on the court with Martin. Although we lost tonight, we saw that Hill may turn out to be a valuable player at some point. This year will continue to be enjoyable for me. I'm really looking forward to seeing Ariza and Lowry worked back into the rotation.

It's part of being a fan...supporting and watching during the good times and bad

I still enjoy seeing our players improve and am pumped for next season. The end of this year isn't gonna be as fun or exciting as years past, but you never know what could happen

I still watch the Rockets as much as ever. I'd like to think even if there were no subplots to watch, i am fan enough to continue to support our team in any way i can. And the easy way too always do that is cut on a tv and add my .0000000001% to the rating share. I know i am fan enough that i will never say in a public forum (in a baby voice) "i dont think i wanna watch the Rockets anymore." (now the Texan country boy voice) Cause Hey! Buddy round these parts......... we always wanna watch the Rockets.

    jk

    Naw, not really.

I watch the games at Bdubs so i have not only been watching every Rocket game still, but i have also been making sure one of the big screens is on NY and the Kings everytime they play.

Look, if you want to take a break and not watch, fine, but also take a break and don't post about what you didn't watch.

I'll still be awatchin'. There's a lot to watch especially when Ariza & Lowery come back. The last few games will be an early training camp. If we make the playoffs, that will be icing on the cake. If not, we get a very good draft pick. However after watching Hill tonight, we might be able to trade our pick this year for a couple of picks in 2012. It's gonna be a very interesting last few games!

I'm still enjoying watching the team, but with the future in mind. For me, it's mostly about watching the different combinations of players, the different styles of play and the chemistry that results.

For example, I like to see which wing players work best with which point guard, or if Budinger plays better or worse when Lowry isn't in the game, or what the team is doing to maximize Martin's offensive skills.

And in the long run, I'm watching and wondering whether our backcourt players and small forwards are a good enough mix for a championship team - and if not, who are the weak links.

It's kind of like watching a rebuilding project that's about to reach a crossroads. There just seems to be a lot for this team to figure out before next season when Yao returns, and this is usually enough for me to keep me watching.

Why do you guys do this? If the Rockets sucks you don't want to watch them and hop off the bandwagon. If they're winning, you watch all the games and hop back onto the bandwagon.

Lately a lot of you guys proved to me that none of you are true Rockets fans. Those of you that aren't true Rockets fans tend to do that a lot. If the Rockets are doing great and winning lots of games, you guys seem to be all about the Rockets, talking about how much of a great fan and a supporter you guys are.

During these tough times, true fans emerges and bandwagon riders emerges also. So if you're a true Rockets fan, you will watch them and support them even if they sucked. I for one still watches the re-run of games on my DVR despite knowing that they've lost the game. Why? Because I enjoy watching my favorite NBA team performed even if its a bad night.

Bad or good, if you considered yourself a true Rockets fan, you stick with them through tough times and great times. That's what being a true fan is all about.

I completely respect this team for playing to win (if that is what the org is doing) and giving it their all (though that was debatable in the Sacramento game).

I cannot stand not playing smart and not giving your full effort. Even with all these injuries and the fact that this team is group of role-players and secondary stars, they should have been able to win the Kings game and Pistons game. They had numerous opportunities to win both of them.

Some of those opportunities were missed because of fatigue or lack of talent, but a good number of them were missed because of lack of awareness or heart. That is where I have an issue.

Having said that, I will still watch any of the Rockets games that I can for the rest of the season.

Great post! Most of the post 2002 followrs feel don't feel this way. Its one of the reason they don't want to see a rebuild that will take 4 yrs or so. Being a long time supporter, i can't get enough of watching hops and the rockets. I didn't think they could win it any year since tracy and yao were to together, but i still watched. This year has been fun watching the young guys try to find their way. I just hope we see more Hill in these last 20 games to get some kind of feel as to what he may be able to bring next year.
