Not sure if his conditioning is back but Martin dissapeared the last quater and OT. If he is not going to take his shots let Bud takes his minutes. I'd rather have Martin in but in but he needs to have confidence when the Rockets need a bucket. AB can't do everything in the last 5 min..
He always disappears in the end of the 3rd and in the 4th.. His body language is really terrible, he looks like the laziest player on the court out there.
Yet, if you haven't noticed, Brooks massages the ball an awful lot in close games which causes our offense to stagnate...he calls for a lot of picks from various players (scola, battier, and hill) yet he doesnt try to feed the pick and roll or try reversing it. Also, Kevin Martin didn't get that many looks at the basket in the fourth though when he did he scored on that layup and freethrows. We need lowry back to make sure the rock doesnt stop for 15 seconds in the shot clock. besides, why is brooks shooting 10 treys a game, half of which are covered?
It was way behind the line. Anyways, the team collectively sucked. Battier assisting Prince. AB missing key shots and turning the ball over.
Brooks has been an absolute ball stopper lately, starting to remind me of the Stevie Franchise days, pre Yao.
He had plenty of quality looks, and even when not it would be nice to force the issue and get to the line. When Battier missed the 3 right before the end of regulation he passed to Martin in the corner, Martin threw the ball back as fast as he could. It wasn't the only time. Not gonna scapegoat Brooks on this.
He did get it the clutch on one occasion. Unfortunately,he didn't display any confidence when it mattered. It's surprising to see him not handling the ball when Brooks was struggling out there. He is the best scorer,he needs to be assertive. RA needs to tell him to step it up. We simply can't rely on AB.
If his opponent doesn't bite on Martin's pumpfake, Martin's screwed and he always passes it out. The problem is when Martin has an iso with 7 seconds left on the clock, he usually passes it out to someone else whos forced to throw up a horrible shot..
Ariza used to say something to Brooks thru his body language before and now Martin can't get the ball. There must be something wrong here.
I am more concerned about him commiting at least a bit on defense. Prince, his mark on defense, went for 29 points. If you score 50 points, but your mark scores 60, you produced -10. K-Mart needs to start playing defense. Season high for Prince.
I think his confidence is real low due to the repeated failures in the clutch since Lowry has been out. He is caught in the worst of both worlds, when he tries to create something for teammates, it usually results in a turnover, when he goes for it himself, well, I can't remember a single successful shot he's made when the rockets are tied or behind.
simple answer to why he went 'cold' AB is shooting the ball WAAY too much even Bill said it, he said 'thats the downside of having a shoot first PG' every1 winds standing around watchin cuz Brooks is dribbling dribbling dribbling its pissin me off, his ass gots to go in a Bosh trade im sick of it
