Saw it in IMax 3D tonight. Thought it was a decent movie. Kind of agree with Nero about Depp stealing the show, but that was bound to happen. The girl that played Alice was fairly forgettable. Liked Alan Rickman dropping his vocals to the movie and the return of George McFly (at least I think that was him). Overall I'd say it was worth checking out.
I was entertained. The White Queen had a peculiar way of acting that I thought was funny throughout the movie. I agree with Nero in that there wasn't much of a story. It's really a children's movie though and I'm sure they wont mind or care. It was also not worth paying to see it 3-D.

Why are people so surprise about Tim Burton's movies? His movies are all visual and totally lack a coherence story telling. Most of his movies are a disappointment. The movie that I might enjoy from beginning to end would probably be Big Fish but it isn't worth more then 2 viewings.
Saw it last night..pretty good honestly. The movie isn't to long, pretty much straight to the point and enough interesting stuff to keep me interested. One question, was this actually a sequel to Alice in Wonderland(book/Disney movie) because parts of the movie seemed VERY different although movies tend to do that now a days?
Just got home from the late viewing. I liked it, straight forward, was more for kids than I thought it would be. Still quirky Tim Burton style. The only thing that bothered me just a bit was the cgi with the bad guy for the Red Queen (can't remember the characters name). Overall worth seeing though. Enjoyable
^Yeah, rendering was choppy when he got on that horse. I liked it in 3D. It's visuals made a decent movie pretty good. It was a ripoff of Narnia, but most people watching have been ingrained with the Disney version for 30+ years. That's a lot of people who want to see something new without rehashing the hold.
I watched it opening day in 3D, I enjoy Tim Burton's films. The movie was filmed then modified for 3D, im not a huge fan of the 3D movies and this one would probably be just as good without it. Depp stole the show, i agree with the peeps that are saying alice was forgettable. Burton threw enough in the mix to give it the alice in wonderland feel without leaving his style. Alan Rickman was good, I think the big head was more for the kids. The movie didnt have the sense of urgency that the cartoon had, but that always annoyed me with the cartoon.
