A victory is a victory. Even though we're winning against teams with like 3 coaches and 2 players in the starting lineup :)

I am surprised by so few posts after a huge win.

First of all I will take any win, pretty or ugly. That said, I am really pissed by the lack of discipline by the players and RA's incompetence in this area. Matt Bull pointed out that when there was 3.7 seconds on the clock and the rockets was shooting FTs at the end of first quarter, two guys should be in the back court. All rockets were in the front court! Though following the FTs Twolf was not able to score, it was a plain poor job of RA.

Another example: Martin's lack of clock awareness. He was facing the basket and was 18 feet away, yet he completely ignored the clock. This is two games in a role that he showed the lack of focus/clock awareness. Come on Martin, you are supposedly a top tier guard!

Everyone got talent in this league. It is discipline and will power that separate great from good, elite from also-run. And it is RA's responsibility to teach/reinforce.

I am wondering if anyone else has come to this quick conclusion:
The three big men obtained recently by trade have little chance of making a decent grade, at least by their early showing. :p

I agree. This team does seem to lack a sense of understanding of key situations.

For instance, in the Sacramento game, the Rockets were just 3 seconds away from going into halftime only down by 3 in a horrible half of basketball... yet Chuck Hayes decides to throw a pass deep that get intercepted and Francisco Garcia hits a 3 pointer with no time on the clock. Considering the Rockets lost by 3, that was a pretty huge shot.

With Yao, this team will definitely be talented enough to go toe-to-toe with the best in the league, but it's bone-headed plays like these that are going to be the difference between getting sent home in the first round or heading to the NBA Finals.

Jeffries came through with some clutch defensive plays today. At least he tries to earn his overpaid salary.

I'm actually quite surprised by his playing. From all the talk about how much he sucks, it's because of his salary. As a player, he's a decent defender, and can really make an impact if he can also occasionally make shots like he did today.

Jeffries brings some things to he able we do not have. Height length and an almost decent midrange shot. Yes 7 mil is too much but when you consider he can take Chuck Hayes job next year it only comes out to 5 mil. And it's only a one year rental and then he comes off the books.
