So let me get this straight for my basketball mind. Yao is going to play 20-25mins and the rockets will probably be a 5th seed at best, then in the playoffs he's going to all of a sudden play 35-40mins? Please show me where a plan like that has ever worked. Not only that, yao has never been able to play 35 mins of high level basketball without getting tired, but now he's going to hit the on button in the playoffs? Ok, good luck with that one, lmao.

Stop being so cynical, nobody knows what or at what level Yao will be like when he returns.

I think its fairly certain that he will not come back EXCEEDING his past play, that would be ridiculous to expect. That is what the guy was saying.

Yao did average 35.9 minutes in the playoffs last season, and he didn't look tired out by that. Of course, he played just 9 games and not an entire playoff run, but nevertheless he looked pretty fresh until the end. In the regular season, he played 33.6 minutes.

So ideally, Adelman would use the same formula next season: keep Yao's regular season minutes to about 32, 33, and increase them in the playoffs. And ideally, the post-surgery Yao would be healthy and mobile enough to be effective in those minutes.

we're Yao and Chris Bosh away from a true contender..
we're set at the G and SF positions we now need to get the PF and C positions up to par with those set positions and we'll be scary

I didn't get the 'twin towers' theory. If the rockets want to sign Bosh, they have to do s&t. Who should the rockets give up to trade for Bosh? After the trade, which players will the rockets still have? Will those players be enough to contend? Otherwise, who will pass the ball to our 'twin towers'? The rockets don't have a good playmaker.

Actually, Artest got them to the 2nd round...

Neither Yao or T-Mac were able to get the Rockets out of the 1st round...

 no u didnt just say Artest?! lmao Artest brought much needed toughness, THATS IT lol u have no clue how that serious actually went do u?
Brandon was KILLING ron ron the entire series I was screaming at the t.v. that Shane needed to switch and guard roy, it was rons ego that he consistently tried guarding him..
only thing ron brought was toughness dont you ever forget that, he had a subpar series he jus had grit and heart, which is valuable, but it didnt win us the series
when AB had a big game we won and shane stepped up and knocked down some big 3's in game 6 that sealed it for us
'ron got us past the 2nd round' lol thats funny as hell u should be a comedian because ur knowledge is sorely lacking

    Let's see....

Before Ron how many times did the Rockets tandem of Yao and T-Mac make it out of the 1st round...

2nd, you say you are 25 but you are acting like a 15 yr old with you post... Want you chill with all dis-respect...

Everyone has there on opinions no matter what they, so want you do all of us a favor and grow up and stop acting so immature with your post....

Your opinion is your opinion, but there is no need to call people stupid, dumb or anything...

I wonder if the lakers would rely on such a plan? Even with bynum coming back from surgery, they didnt put the kind of restrictions the rockets will have on yao and he's probably 4th in terms of best player, yet our first option will be different? Once again, good luck.

Lol you really are going to depend on a guy who is coming of the Big Z surgery?? Hmmm wow. I guess Yao is the savior on this board. Guys are going to have high expectations for Yao and its going to be a disappointing year. I don't and won't expect too much out of him the next upcoming season.

All the training in the world off the basketball court is different compared to actually running up and down playing on the court.
