I am officially resigning as president of Members Against Steve Hating (M*A*S*H). There are WAY too many Steve haters on this board. Too many people taking every single syllable our star player says, overanalysing it, and twisting his words around in order to bash him just for bashing sake. It's a losing battle. I'm just going to sit back, watch some Rockets basketball, and let them bash away to their heart's content. I won't let it affect me any more... As for the wonderful organization I started, I'll let my fellow M*A*S*Hers decide what to do. If someone wants to step in and take over as president, then go for it and continue to fight the good fight. Or, just let M*A*S*H fade away. You're correct about the over-analyzing. Steve basically says he wants to have a voice in the organization and everyone on the board jumps him. He's the franchise player; if he wants to know the direction of the team, if he wants an understanding that he will be included in the marketing (and not just Yao), what's the big deal? I think it's his right. The few who buy overpriced tickets for the games are not coming to see CD and RT and Les. Anyway, A-Train was speaking more to the Steve-haters...er, haytas?...and me, I gave that up when he reportedly came on board after seeing Ming video.
It's odd our fascination with painting a target on star players. When they do something we perceive to be right, they are the target of all of our un-yielding praise. When they do something we perceive to be wrong, they are the target of our extreme criticism. Hurry up and get here October.
Big A!!! I totally understand buddy. For awhile now, Jumpshipidus has affected a small group of Rocket supporters stranded between 94' and now on this site. I can agree that it's really out of hand and the danger of it spreading is now a reality. Basically, Rocket fans are the worst damn fans in the league. They will turn on you in any moments notice with out any cause what so ever. I hate coming to this site sometimes because of these bashers and their negative thoughts and opinions. I thought that this was a Rockets support site? If certain people want to bash Steve and the Rockets, then freakn' go to another site! You have new members that are totally confused about the purpose of CluthCity.net because the bashing happens so often. Some of you and you know who you are, need to get lives and start having sex with actual women! Maybe that will help some of you control that rage that's inside which allows for you all to nick-pick every freakn thing that happens with OUR players. Personally, I'm tired of seeing these stupid ass post about he said this and Cat said that....do you have a picture? You can take this post how you want, but I'm not going anywhere! I'm a Rockets fan and been one for as long as I can remember. Through the good, the bad, the trades, the media, the mistakes, the faults and the achievements...I'm always true. We need to get back to that.
I'm not a Steve-Hater by any means, but I must say I haven't agreed with a lot of the things he's said the past couple of months. That's all. I still hope the Rockets resign him to a long-term deal soon. The fans who are already saying "good riddance" to Steve are seriously overreacting.
The thing that eats at me is that I have never actually seen any of these things quoted. What exactly has he said please tell me . And I mean word for word, I have never heard anything derogatory. I understand that he is not enthusiastic about Ming but if he doesn't like him why should he smile about it. Is it because some of you suck up to your boss at work? Sack up people and if you don't like the franchise player Maybe you like Dirk, go be Mavs fans or something.
A-train, do not quit!! Now more than ever we need to stand behind the team and show loyalty. I have been a Rocket fan since I knew what basketball was and no matter what happens in the future, I will always be a fan. Oh , I can understand no liking some of the play on the court and some statements made out of context but that stuff happens. I will support the uniform no matter who wears it and who plays. Steve is young and sometimes says things a way that we may not like but it is his right to say them. If he does not want to be here then he will not sign an extension, if he does he will. It is as simple as that. I hope and pray that he does because I feel he will continue to get better and be a VERY special player for years to come. I would prefer that he do it in a Rocket uni. Criticism is fine but quit parsing his words to find hidden meanings. He has every right to question the direction of his employer. That does mean he is trying to run the show.

Come on A-Train don't go. Since I first logged on to cc.net MASH was one of the first things I noticed and I really wanted to become a member of MASH. Like Dennis 2112 said, we need you now more than ever. We have a ton of wish-wash Rocket fans and we need someone to preach the truth. You and I know what Steve means to the team and as he leads us to the playoffs this year all these "fans" who wanted to ship him out will be right back on the bandwagon and they won't be able to say anything. Please don't go A-Train.
I think Francis has it pretty easy myself. I mean, he's been here 3 years and wants to be maxed out, yet the team has yet to make the playoffs. He hasn't exactly been a model of maturity since he's been here. He didn't seem happy with the Ming pick. Hakeem's treatment by the board recently is a walk in the park, considering what he's actually done for the city, compared to Francis.
Exactly FREAK! If we are still losing in the next 3 years, then what? Judging from the track record, Steve Francis has done little in the respect of what really matters, winning! Judging from his track record, Steve has made some selfish decisions! This CRAP that you can't question a FRANCHISE player is crap--especially when it comes to a contract situation. I want to win and I think we gave the FRANCHISE tag way too early. I love the rockets-not Steve Francis or Dream or anyone else- honestly they can be as selfish as they want as long as the team wins. If I start to feel that Steve may be affecting our team with his selfishness then he can walk.I don't seem to remember Dream being concerned with MARKETING! I want to Steve to be a rocket, and if it hurts you so deeply that I question him sometimes, then I'm sorry.
