LeBron James has missed free throws in huge situations too.. I guess he's not a "star." Players miss free throws. It happens. Should Brooks be blamed for missing that free throw? Absolutely. He definitely should have made it... but you don't blame the entire loss on him for missing that 1 free throw. Hell, even if he does make it, there were 6 seconds left, which is plenty of time to get a shot off. And since they practically did it all night long, the Kings probably could have missed a shot, got a rebound, and then made the second shot.
Thats not the point The point is, you ask how can you blame a player for this loss? Simple, we had a chance to tie, he blew. End of story. You don't go saying well he put us in a position so its okay to miss a FT. The game was there at the end for us to Tie, he blew it. You can blame him for that loss. Its not a hard concept. Just because he got us there, doesn't mean he gets a free pass when he had the ability to tie the game. If you are our number 1 scoring option, you are expected to score.
Yep, when you are the guy with the ball in your hands late, you are not going to make them all. AB should have nailed the FTs and got a great look at the tying 3, but having NO rest in the 2nd half was pretty poor coaching. Oh well...higher draft picks rock. DD
I never said AB did not suck, I said he kept them within reach of a tie. He obviously did not play well, my point is that he did not lose the game. The fact that no one on offense was moving....EVER and the fact that 25 offensive rebounds were given up is what lost the game. It was a pathetic effort by the entire team except for Luis
just out of curiosity, who would you rather have? i think his record as a head coah is pretty damn good. i think it's safe to say tonights game is a mystery for anyone who watched, but wanting to dump adelman might be a slight overreaction.
The Rockets literally couldn't sign Temple to another 10-day contract. They either had to sign him for the rest of the season or just let him go. Since signing him for the season would have put the Rockets over the luxury tax, it was a pretty easy choice.
ARE U KIDING ME!! I am so sick of these "players over team" posts I have seen on here lately! It's like some of u guys would rather one of our former players do good instead of seeing our TEAM win!!! I'm prly the biggest tmac fan on here and I love Carl Landry! But the only JUSTICE would have been our TEAM winning! And if it's not that it's guys posting about "tanking", I wonder what one of our players would have to say to the guys who wanna tank?? U think they don't wanna make a run this year?I mean come on! I wanna see landry play well and have a great career, When he's not playing MY TEAM!! I'm not saying that ur implying all this but u are some of it! It's almost like some of these posters are just fans of the players and not of the team, which in my eyes isn't a TRUE fan! It's not fair to the Rockets and it's not fair to the game of basketball!!
LBJ on this team = +15 wins, he can afford to miss 1 FT. LBJ is a horrible comparison for AB. The point is, people ask, how can you blame AB for losing the game...well because he actually did lose the game by missing the FT. Not a hard concept. I would blame the same person who missed that last FT. Just because AB got us there doesn't = a free pass.
If we picked him up gain we would have to sign him for the remainder of the season.. which would have put us over the Lux Tax.. It is completely understandable why we had to let him go.. But man I miss him already.. AB just cant play the whole game and be effective. and Conroy isn't very good.. Temple was so sure of himself and very aggressive..
Playoff?!?! Playoff?!?! Playoff?!?! Playoff?!?! Playoff?!?! you talking about Playoff?!?! Playoff?!?! Playoff?!?! Playoff?!?! serious Playoff?!?!
No kidding. I can't believe someone complained about him "standing around." I must have missed it. (insert roll-eyes here) Damn, losing this games pisses me off more than usual. The Kings simply aren't that good. What killed us is that they took a page out of our book from the first half of the season and just out-hustled us. Seriously, we should have won this damn game. It should never have come down to a missed free throw from AB, not that I didn't groan and damn near throw something at the screen, dammit. I liked to choke and keel over when that happened. No joy in the Blade Runner's abode tonight, I can tell you. Our feeble playoff hopes are history. Short of an amazing run of victories over the next 10 games, combined with a couple of teams having the kind of implosion we endured tonight, we might as well charge hard for a better spot in the lottery. Damn, I hate even thinking that way. I'm a die hard optimist of long standing.
