I was just watching Seinfeld and it was the one where Susan gets killed by the toxic envelopes. (a true classic) I thought that was one of the banned episodes. Was I mistaken, or did the WB accidently play a banned episode?
Me too! But I had heard somewhere, actually i think it was this BBS, that that episode was banned, so I was just wondering.
i don't think it was officially banned, only the Puerto Rican Day Parade episode was... however, due to recent anthrax scares, I believe that the episode in question has fallen out of heavy rotation as of late.
I think I posted about that... I do believe it has been removed from syndication since 9/11 and the anthrax situations... maybe some stations never got the memo or ignored it??? not sure.... I would check alt.tv.seinfeld found this and this
After the Anthrax scare the producers of the show decided to pull it. Maybe they came to their senses. Thats great news that its on.
"Anyway, I've got the funeral tomorrow, but the rest of my week is wide open." --George to Marisa Tomei
The Puerto Rican Day episode is also coming up in the syndicated block. Perhaps it is an edited version? For the record, local stations are not "sent a memo." They typically do not keep broadcast-quality copies around, and they do not do their own butchering for additional commercial time. All of that is done at the national level by the syndicators. Which episodes appear, and in which order is decided by them, and "controlled" since fresh copies of episodes are sent down the satellite on a weekly (or so) basis.
Uhhh, did ya get the memo? Riiiight. You see, we're not showing the episode where Susan dies anymore. I'll make sure you get a copy of that memo. Also, don't forget that Friday is Hawaiian shirt day. So if you want to wear a Hawaiian shirt... you can.
Hey peter, whats this I'bve been hearing about you having trouble with your TPS reports? Ya, didnt you get the memo?
