OK so I know those people that only post in threads to say "IBTL" or "you suck," please read this entire post before you say that.

Assumption: Lets assume we make the lottery and get the 1st pick overall.

I know john wall is on top of everyones draftboards which is a rightful place for him, but I absolutely LOVE EVAN TURNER. This dude can flat out play. He is an amazing athlete and defender and fills the stat sheet in almost every category.

I like John Wall, but realized that he is a little too turnover prone, but is a once in 5 to 7 year player....but we have aaron brooks who is a legit NBA starter.

I propose we trade that number 1 pick down a spot or two because teams will want John Wall and Draft Evan Turner plus get a role player with him in exchange for John Wall. It wouldn't just be a trade pick for pick. We would draft John Wall and trade him to the team that got Turner on draft day so it is safe and less risky.

    Reasons:

    1. Wall is a player that needs the ball in his hands.
    2. His big men on KU's team are all runners up and down the court and that doesn't mesh will with Yao.
    3. Wall is elite talent, but Evan turner is a 6-7 G/F that is compared to Brandon Roy.
    4. Evan turner isn't a finesse player and fills that aggressive role.

Ultimately, I think Turner is a BETTER FIT for this team, NOT a better player than Wall

    We don't trade Wall.

If we get Wall, that makes Aaron Brooks expendable. Since AB is playing so well, that means his value is at an all time high.

Why not package Brooks + Filler to get that same role player + a pick that might turn out to be Turner?

You can teach Wall to be less TO prone. You can teach Wall to change his game, and making him mesh with Yao.

You can't teach Brooks the potential that Wall has to be the possibly the best PG of the new decade.

I know you mean well so I won't say stupid thread or moron or IBTL. But you do know we have less than a half a percent chance.

Seriously if we got it I would trade it with Aaron Brooks for Lebron James.

Should have posted it in "NBA Draft 2010: College and International Basketball"

lets say your hypothetical were to happens and we were to draft John Wall, I don't think its about him fitting him with Yao.....John Wall would be our new franchise player and the team would be constructed around the 6'4 guard from kentucky....

Its that simple, plus even if Evan Turner were to turn out as good as Roy, that still wouldn't be close to John Wall's ceiling....

Im pretty sure if Morey got his hands on the #1 pick if he would somehow trade it for the #2 and #3, then turn those two into the 4-8 picks, and by the end somehow walk away from the draft with 5 of the 10 best players. Thats just the way he rolls.

Are you serious? Ok well I'll chime in...

You package Wall + AB + New York Picks for Lebron James... I'm pretty sure Cleveland wouldn't mind that deal :)

Wall is overrated. He's just another Derrick Rose, and Rose is only a little better than Brooks. We don't need to be worrying about PG.

We're not getting Wall anyway... we won't get one of the top picks.

Ford plays for the Pacers. Nobody can replace what Brooks does when it comes to the PG position.

You don't trade John Wall for anyone not named LeBron James.

Turner will probably go 1st overall anyway.

We aren't getting the first pick. If we get under the 13th we should all be happy.

I'd be happy with the number 2 pick. Wall and Turner are both going to be very good NBA players. If the Rockets end up with either pick, they will be a force.

Turner would be an excellent fit for the Rockets and well just every other team in the NBA.

You go ahead and pick Wall because he is most likely to succeed. If nobody offers you something stupid to get him then you put him on the team and see how he fits.
