Amare Stoudemire: Has many miles on his body for his age. Playing well now, very gifted on offense. However lets not forget he has always played on a team that is near the top of the league in possessions per game. His defense is inconsistent and at best below average. We would probably lose any identity as a defensive team.

Don't see it happening, some team that loses out on the LeBron sweepstakes will give him max money, possibly in a sign and trade.

Chris Bosh: Very good rebounder, gifted offensive player and long enough to alter shots. His defense is soft, and he is often times pushed around in the post or caught out of position. He at times can be a black hole on offense. His length and athleticism make him an interesting foil for Yao.

It isn't going to happen. I suspect he is going to NY or TOR.

Al Jefferson: A very strong, physical player that is at times a beast on the boards and in the post. He is not a very gifted defender and lacks the foot speed to cover certain players. While Amare and Bosh choose not to defend, Jefferson is limited at that part of his game.

He is a dark horse candidate for the Rockets because he appears to be a candidate to buy low. However, the Wolves have thus far over valued their players and have not been realistic in their trade demands. Further, if we assume that the Wolves want proven players, the Rockets most viable trade piece (Brooks) plays point guard.

David Lee: Hardest worker on this list and has made himself a good player. His hustle results in many rebounds and high percentage putbacks. Unfortunately his defense is mediocre, but has improved.

My guess is he stays in NY.

Carlos Boozer: Good rebounder, hustle scorer. Only a fool would give him a long term deal. He is not always healthy and has no problem missing games or showing inconsistent effort.

He will end up being over paid by one of the teams that lose out on the big name free agents.

Who do we have that TWolves would want for Jefferson? This is actually not a bad idea. In the very least Yao wouldn't have to worry about getting abused by Jefferson.

if we get Bosh, Amare, or Lee we will have 2nd best starting lineup in the west! It would just come down to our bench(which would depend on what we would have to give up to get one of those guys)

David Lee only works hard on offense. He may get a lot of rebounds on the stat sheet but he provides non-existent weakside help and zero intimidation around the rim.

If for some unfortunate turn of events he lands in Houston, he would quickly replace Ariza as the most criticized player on the Rockets.

Amare is way overrated. He doesn't rebound well for his speed and size, mostly because he doesn't put in the effort. He doesn't play defense. AND, most importantly, his number only looks reasonable because he plays with Nash AND on an up tempo team.

If Amare is that good, MMorey would have pulled the trigger before the trade deadline, because then Rox would own his Bird right, making it fairly easy to sign him in the summer. But I am sure Morey is eyeing other clearly better players, like Bosh, or even Lee.

Nah, Lee doesn't play defense because his coach doesn't care about defense.

Call me crazy but I think Lee is a better fit than Amare and Bosh. Lee can play both the 4 and 5 spot well, rebound the ball, hustle and play decent defense.

    OK, crazy. :)

Lee is undersized for 5 and is not physical enough to play 4. It will be a nightmare if he plays alongside Yao. His overall lack of defensive intensity would cause Yao to foul out every game.

Don't look at the statsheet. Watch the Knicks play sometimes. Lee is worse than Amare on defense.

Amare, Bosh, Lee, Jefferson and Boozer are all below average defenders. In fact I would go so far as to say Jefferson, Lee and Bosh are bottom third defensively.

It is very unlikely that Boozer ends up on the Rockets...

Fortunately basketball is about 5on5 and not 1on1 + 1on1 + 1on1... We have a huge advantage over some teams, and it is our offensive game, we are capable of doing very sound basketball. Cleveland e.g. can never say this. That's crucial in the playoffs, in my opinion.

I think Rockets are very interested in Bosh, but don't know if we're ready to give Brooks-Shane in exchange. Bosh has improved his attitude and global intensity on the court, and that added to his length and athleticism (and some weight gained) makes him a potential important presence as PF next to Yao. Offensively, he's a high post player, I don't know about his passing skills, but I believe in the adaptation of the great players to a new role, and moreover I think we're talking about a smart guy with already some years of experience.

David Lee could give us the hustle we've lost with Landry's departure, he's very active on the boards, plus can rebound very well. And he's a high post player too with very good passing abilities. Won't demand too many balls and still can be very valuable into the system. Defensively, he's playing as center in NY, and accuses that, but as PF I think he can be a solid contributor, has a versatile body, has the attitude, the strength/size/speed, and the knowledge and fundamentals.

I would love any of them, the point is just what are we willing to discard in order to bringing them here.

Because he's physical, a good rebounder and low block scorer and can actually play center for long periods of time. Not only that, he's 25 to boot.

Thank you, saved me some time.

Little to no shot we get Lee.

NYK either resigns him, but most likely give up his rights for their cap space.

I dunno why people say this.

We know that you obviously aren't going to do this. Unless you really want to be quoted or something.

I really want Morey to "Get Bosh!" but David Lee would be a very, very nice consolation prize.

Throw the kitchen sink at Washington for Blatche

I don't think Washington would do it, but it'd probably be a lot easier trade than doing a Bosh sign and trade (we'd have to gut a lot of the team just to match salary). Tyrus Thomas, who we've heard rumblings out there that Morey has been interested in could also be a possibility in a sign and trade this summer.

Scola will get a decent contract this year, but any more than 6 mil a year for someone who will be a backup after we get a big man this offseason, so you don't want to overpay, plus he isn't young and has likely maxed out his potential.

His contract fits when he's healthy. Yao has a huge contract and has missed 3 seasons with injuries.
