I keep seeing alot of talk about a sign and trade for Chris Bosh. But wouldn't it be funny as hell if we did a sign and trade with New York for David Lee. Seeing as Lee is a free agent also this summer and even though he is playing center I think power forward is his natural position.I mean think about it,if the Knicks don't get LBJ or any of the other big names to come to New York then surely they wouldn't just let Lee walk without some compensation. I would roll over laughing if Morey did a sign and trade for David Lee.Those Knick draft picks would look pretty good to anyone including the Knicks if they don't hit paydirt with the 2010 free agent class.

There's no scenario where NY would S&T David Lee. If they want to sign 2 max FA, they would have to renounce Lee's rights first and lose his bird rights. If they sign 1 max FA, decide to keep David Lee, then he's worth more to them then any pieces the Rockets would be willing to give them.

David Lee would be awesome on this team. Not very many players are GOOD walking double-doubles (in PTS/REBS).
I would find it hilarious if we sign Bosh using the draft picks we got from them and they end up getting 2nd tier FAs like Gay or Boozer.
David Lee is a terrible player. He is the definition of an empty stats player. He has no offensive game, requires plays to be run for him, usually off a pick and roll. He is a terrible defensive player, probably as bad or worse than scola. He is a terrible rebounder because he never boxes anyone out, he gets rebounds because he lowers his team's chances of getting the rebound and increases his own chances, look at how many offensive rebounds NY gives up. NY rightly so has no intention to sign him and look for some other team to overpay him this summer and regret it halfway into next season.
Glad to help. Didn't flame you because most fans aren't very knowledgeable about the cap situation. So I didn't think it was a big deal to mess up. I myself wouldn't even know about this stuff until the beginning of the season, when I tried to examine our cap situation this offseason. There's a reason why NY didn't trade David Lee during the deadline. It was rumored that Sacramento would've given them T-Mac for Lee, but NY refused. Hence resulting in the package of Hill+picks that they ended up giving to us. The reason is, if NY strikes out in FA and end up with only one stud FA wing(i.e. Lebron/Wade/Johnson), they can keep David Lee and still have something like $6 mil of cap room for role players. So he's basically their insurance policy in case things go sour.
The truth. For more info on David Lee; go read some Knicks forums. He is not very liked for an all-star. David Lee is the WORST defensive PF in the game.

No one will listen. New York fans seem to say the very same thing about Lee, especially about his rebounding. I feel the same way about Lee. When watching the All-star game he looked like a boy amongst men.
