Seems like the Rockets traded away all their heart when they traded Tmac.

Oh and if this is the guy you call the "heart" of the team, I'd start thinking about another body part that you would normally sit on, because he fits that description real well about now:

    From the NY Post

“I didn’t have it tonight,” McGrady said. “It was pretty tough out there for me moving around. I wasn’t going to try to push through it. It’s stiffness, pain. No reason to stay out there like that.”

In all five of his games, McGrady’s knee has been an issue at a varying level of degrees. Yesterday he was unable to take playing back-to-back nights and quit on the game after banging a 3-pointer off the back iron at the first-half buzzer.

“It was tougher for me,” McGrady said. “Usually in the first half, I’m pretty good. But a couple of trips up the court I noticed it wasn’t my night. I told you guys, I’m going to have some bad days and some good days.

“It’s nothing to be worried about, I can’t hurt anything,” McGrady added. “I just didn’t want to have a set´back.”

Oh wow. Its amazing how quickly people forget we came within a decent shooting night of making it to the conference finals last year basically without T-Mac. He was nothing but distraction all year.

I don't understand how many members here are completely forgetting about Yao Ming being hurt? He didn't die. He's picking up his option. There's so much reason to be optimistic about next season. There heart is still there as shown earlier in the season. But did anyone REALLY expect us to keep it up for 82 games? Now we're trying to integrate Kevin Martin. He's a professional, but it still takes time for chemistry to develop. You guys are frustrating as hell!

I don't think K-mart is a downgrade from T-mac at this point. T-mac has better playmaking abilities, but K-mart is more efficient of a scorer due to his ability to draw fouls. For the RA offense, K-mart probably is a better fit at the end of the day - but I do think T-mac's talents would be better suited for a game 7 late 4th qtr of a close game.

The problem with the trade wasn't that we got K-mart for T-mac, it's that we got K-mart for T-mac + Landry. That's why we're seeing a more difficult adjustment period - because Landry was having a big impact.

In the long run, I think K-mart will better fit into the offense and we'll be just fine with Scola. But for us to contend in the near future (when Yao gets back) we're going to need another playmaker. Since Brooks and Martin will get a lot of minutes I think we need someone at the 3 who can pass well.

More like they traded the team jack@ss. Hard to be the heart of the team when you don't have one.

How can having a better record be a matter of opinion?

Actually - the rot set in in New Jersey when the management/coaching high command ventured into the Twilight Zone and had McGrady come to Joisey only to send him home.

Of course - back then - they were reading their press clippings and intoxicated on MDS. I know the popular thing to do is attack McGrady - but it will be a long time before we see little things like 55 wins, 22 in a row, relevance in the championship discussion.

But to those afflicted with MDS these are secondary considerations - what animates them is personal assaults on McGrady. To the rest of the league the Rockets just seem dysfunctional - and pathetic.

Active Players with the Rockets 2008-2009 season
    Hayes
    Scola
    Battier (Sick)
    Lowry (Injured)
    Brooks

Active Players With the Rockets from begining of 2009-2010 season.
    Anderson (Rookie)
    Ariza (Hurt)
    Budinger (Rookie)
    Taylor (Rookie)

Active Players who came to Rockets after Febuary 18th 2010
    Martin
    Jeffries
    Armstrong
    Hill (Rookie)
    Temple (Rookie)

Yao was not listed due to injury.

This team is just getting to know each other. They are learning to play togeather. Three of the players in the rotation are Rookies. Three of the players in the rotation have been with the team for less than a month. That leaves Scola, Hayes and Brooks as the only ones that played in the Jazz game that have been with the team for multiple seasons.

Why do people expect the Rockets to be able to compete when this team is starting the season over. We are basically in preseason right now. The games just count against us. I know it sucks but I am proud of what the rockets are able to do. How well they compete when they are not on the same page.

We should have traded Wee-Mac years ago!

Lost faith in the organization?? You act as if players don't know being traded is part of the business. They definitely DO. In fact, take a look at our roster RIGHT NOW. Ariza came here in what was essentially a trade. Kyle Lowry was traded here LAST YEAR, Shane Battier came here through TRADE, as did Scola, Jordan Hill, Jeffries, Kevin Martin etc. Some of you guys seriously need to grow up and stop being so damn emotional about this trade. We got better FOR THE FUTURE. Carl Landry is a good player, but he is NOT the second coming of Jordan. And I'm sorry, but this team was losing games BEFORE Landry was traded. This team, as constructed with Landry, was going NOWHERE. We needed to make a move for the future, and we did.
