both these guys are on the market, and both of them play a position we really need help with. We could quite possibly land one of them ...but the question is which one would you want to land? Both of them would most likely ask for hefty salaries, so it really depends on there skills. I personally think mo taylor would be a good idea. Maybe we could get him with a sign and trade: MO T. and the clips high pick for... #9, kenny thomas, drew, williams who knows? ------------------ If all babies are pretty, how come their so many ugly people in the world? ----SIR CHARLES
Comparing Mo Taylor and Brian Grant? This one is easy. Brian Grant. Taylor is not what we need. We need a hard-nosed, defensive minded PF that can rebound with the best of them. We also need a great hustler. All of that describes Brian Grant, not Mo Taylor. Brian Grant would be ideal for this team. But sadly, I think he is out of our range. ------------------ Cheaters never win. Unless you play for LA that is.
Brian Grant would be an excellent addition to this team, but Mo Taylor would be a GIGANTIC mistake. Taylor does one thing well, score. He is a terrible rebounder, horrid defender and inadequate in transition. Part of the reason for this is that he is somewhat of a "doughboy". If the Rockets sign Mo Taylor, it will be a huge mistake imho. I can see why his value has been going down. ------------------ Check out the Best Source for Draft Info Draftsource.net
First Grant would have to decide to opt out of his contract with Portland. He stands to make almost $10 million next year. It would not be a wise decision to opt out of a contract like that, on a team that was within 1 game of the Finals. If he does opt out and the Rockets try and get him, I hope it is not for more than $4-4.5 mil. ------------------ We need some meat in the post!
Yup, Brian Grant is definately the choice, but we wont be able to get him nor Mo Taylor. ------------------ treasurer of the moochie norris fan club
If Grant opts out and signs elsewhere, his options to get money similar to his current contract are extremely limited. A trade benefits Grant and the Blazers and could possibly generate a small trade exception credit (heypartner favorite). The Blazers think big and dealing for minor pieces is not their style; so a bold move this summer is quite likely from Portland. Mango ------------------ Live long and prosper. Donate blood! Neither of these guys is worth the money they'll be asking for. Danny Fortson would be much more bang for the buck IMO. ------------------ [This message has been edited by oakdogg (edited June 16, 2000).]
