Aaaand DD is right again while everybody else is freaking out, knee-jerking, and overreacting

I'm glad there are at least a couple of smart people in the GARM.

I think our poor defense was what contributed to them shooting so hot...Its the same reason the Pacer's were shooting lights and the Heat were shooting lights out...I think most teams in the league would be "hot" with the defense we played tonight..perhaps not %67...but definitely high.

budinger should never have been at the 3. actually to be honest I trust my boi jermaine taylor more than bud at the 3. bud is more combo guard than guard/forward.

its okay fellas. this was a good loss. the defense will be MUCH better when Ariza and Yao and Battier comes back, but the offense is where our struggles have been and today to both aaron and kevin both crazily sinking the spalding through the net like big macs through DD (jk  lol), its certain great adelman basketball!!

Can't wait till Lowry, Ariza, and Battier are back. I think the losses will motivate them. They'll be thinking, "Wow, look at how much our needs us!" And they come back full of confidence, bringing with them the effort/scrappiness from the start of the season. They'll win a batch of games, gaining even more confidence, therefore more shots will go down, and they'll win even more games. Then before you know, we upset the Lakers in the playoffs, make it to the finals, and become the biggest surprise in NBA history.

No, trust me, everything I see in my dreams comes true

Isnt odd how we don't see the Battier haters now? Shane misses a single game and opponents shoot record FG percentages. Where the opposing team slashes into the paint endlessly, where not a single three is contested.

BUT BUT BUT SHANE ONLY STANDS IN THE CORNER, THATS ALL HE DOES. HE CANT CREATE OFF THE DRIBBLE, TRADE HIM FOR A SECOND ROUND PICK.

Maybe now we can be spared the mob of ignorance that floods the GARM after every loss when the torch bearers are looking for a witch to burn.

And yes Shane was critical in his defense of Williams in the previous Utah games, and yes Deron was "contained" in those games, unlike today where he shredded us.

well, it's hard to play defense if we don't have our best defenders.

in the first half, we were just keeping pace with their shooting but the jazz were dictating the tempo of the ballgame. the jazz started making shots because they were not feeling any pressure from us. their confidence was way up.

i think the jazz were expecting our switching rotating defense. they spread the court very well and while we were scrambling and covering for each other, they just found the open shooters. i thought we should just have played one-on-one. if they scored in the paint, at least that's just 2 points.

Yeah, exactly. There was even an idiot in the game thread early last night, going on about how we're so much better without "Mr. Intangibles" because our offense was doing so well in the first quarter.

We need to gather all the people that don't think this team has a use for Battier in a room and make them watch this game again and again until they get the point.

Yes, the j*zz made some contested 3's but they made way to many uncontested 3's which helped get them into a shooting rythem for the whole game.

A lot of missed defensive perimeter rotations.

Understandble, in light of the number of new and missing players.

Rockets offensive improvements are welcomed though.

I know the chance is slim. But we'd better get John Wall.

There is NO doubt that Shane is our best defender, even better than Chuck...

And it is why I was saying trade Trevor and keep him.....because of his defense.

But, I don't think the team wins with him playing last night, Utah was just too hot.

Agreed, the close outs and rotations were really poor, but you have to give credit to the Jazz for making the right passes, and making the shots.

We are talking about a Jazz team that hits less than 5 three point shots a game, and they hit a ton more than that last night.

Sometimes the other team is just hot.....last night was one of those times.

There used to be a lot more of em....but the chorus of dumbassary has won the day.

I'm not TOO upset about RA going with the zone, after all, nothing else was really working. But, what I am upset with is the lack of effort and, I never thought id say this, the lack of HARD WORK when we played the 2-3. Chase, brooks, kmart, and GT were late almost every time. Most of their 3s were WIDE OPEN.. with that said, looking at how they were shooting even with a hand in their face, I don't think the rox could've won that game. :( And as much as I hate the j*zz with all my heart, they were just too hot (and I'm not talking bout how they look, trust me lol) EffTheJazz!!!

Btw, how do u add a signature?? Thanks

what? Can you explain what you mean here? A combo guard as a 1 and 2? Budinger cannot be a combo guard, he's 2/3, preferably a 3. His ballhandling isn't as good as you'd want in a shooting guard.

Yes we would have, our bigs did nothing to help on the Picks....

A player can not fight through a pick when a guy weighs more than 100 pounds more than you.

Our bigs need to step out on the high side and force the dribbler to go wide, but stay close enough to their man to be able to recover on the roll.

    Comprende?

At the end of the day the better team won....on their home court.

I agree. Utah just could not miss tonight. There are worst teams defensively that Utah played against yet they could not pull of the same thing.

I was pleasantly surprised at Martin's progression. He is going to turn out to be quite some player, although you can visibly see him winded at times throughout the game. His decision making is quite good and his dribbling/passing is a breath of fresh air compared to watching Trevor forcing himself into doing the same thing.

Brooks is a good player, but his decision making at times is still very susceptible. I think there was a play in the late 3rd quarter early 4th where he pulled up for a guarded three with no one down the court. He then counters that with several nice bounce passes for Hayes or others to score. Very frustrating indeed.

Exactly!! Thanks DD. Thanks for being smart.
DA is a joke of a defender, a joke of an NBA player. I don't like to hate on my teams players, but the guys so uncoordinated!!! Wait, where was I?? Oh yea, defense.
Our bigs did nothing on the picks, they could barely guard their own guy. Mehmet Okrap got so many open jumpers in the 4th.
