Seems like the Rockets traded away all their heart when they traded Tmac.

I couldn't agree more with the original post -- this team is a heartless shell of its former self without The T-Mac.

Toronto was wrong, Orlando was wrong, and Houston was wrong too !
T-Mac DOES have a HEART, and he WILL prove it to all the world WHEN he was reborn on Pandora.

The guy only has 35 posts and 7 pages in he hasnt responded to anyone. I think hes trying to get a rise out of people and from the looks of it, i would say hes doing a wonderful job of it.

This thread is a whiners thread and ****ing clown shoes, at best. You have to face forward or risk the shock and damage that inevitably comes with living in the past.

And I think it's amazing that one can make such lofty assertions after four games and after all of mcgrady's chicanery and excuses no less. Is anyone paying attention to his conduct in New York? It's the same old sorry line that we dealt with in Houston for six years. After the six years of strong language and actions indicative of serious personality disorders I find it rather distressing that some of you are actually saying this crap. It's like the show, "The Sopranos": it's over. Find a new show- the Houston Rockets in 2010, not what could have been IF and only if the mclazy hype would gave panned out some years ago.

And in conclusion: I believe in what the rockets admin is trying to do and I hope that you can too. It's a lot easier to believe than to be a harsh skeptic. You should try it sometime!

    Heart of the team?

Tracy and the Grinch had a common aliment...

Their hearts were two sizes too small!

Good luck with the knee Tracy, you should have found a heart doctor instead.

    tmac? yea right.

If anything the OP had one good point that has been reiterated through this entire thread. The rockets have indeed lost something: identity. At this seasons beginning they were called the "scrappy little team" who could destroy you by outworking you. Somewhere between game number 30 and now they've lost that will to play hard. They've gone through a complete lineup face change with the injuries and trade and probably just need to have a couple of good games in a row to start building off of. One game against San Antonio wasn't going to do that. San Antonio and Utah at SLC? That's a pretty good start. They were giving up an enormous amount of defense with the players they have out and basically would have had to outgun Utah the way Utah was draining shots. I'm not trying to be a homer here, but the heart of that team is every member of the team not just one single player. Why? Because it'll take effort from everyone to stay motivated and to win games. It'll take everyone to work hard and build confidence and with confidence, the wins will come along as well. The season isn't lost as of yet, but our hope is that they can turn it around before its too late. Either way, it's still been one hell of an interesting season IMO.

First up, the absence of McGrady, removes a quality scorer, not a leader. A lot of fans have the mistaken assumption that "performance" or "Publicity" = "leadership" in sports, which is absolutely nuts if you know anything about being a quality leader.

Secondly, the Rockets have merely hit the mid season wall, where teams are starting to scout them and have come up with effective solutions to stop them. Add in the worry of potential trades and the knicks and injuries the team has been dealing with, we hit bad slump. Now with only one legit post scorer in the rotation and injuries to their back up PG and one of their starters, it shouldn't be a surprise as to why we are in a funk.

McGrady couldn't help us, especially since we gave him a over a month to recover before the trade and he still comes up limping after 2 games and in five games still has been able to produce more then one win.
