I truly hope so..... and this just isn't about Brooks, it goes for the entire team... When the Rockets lose it's like a freakin Witch Hunt around here... Give the guys time to grow in their new role and as a team...
It was Shakespeare, but I'd like to see Brooks defer to Martin in the final minutes/seconds of the game. He took several bad shots at the end, which left the door open for SA to come back.
No there is a difference and hopefully people start figuring that out... So why not any.... Brooks played Great tonite threads or Brooks is finally understanding that thread....
The latter thread would be invalidated by future instances of Brooks playing completely bone-headed and committing the same mistakes he's become known for.
So what are the forums for? When players have bad games, you better be prepared for the criticism. The players themselves know this. lol, most of the people were just talking about how bad of a game he had. Of course there are always the over the top people with the 'Trade him!'
Brooks was 3-5 in the 4th quarter and 4-4 from the line with 0 turnovers Martin was 2-7 in the 4th quarter and 2-2 from the line with 3 utrnovers
He did defer tonight, Martin was 0-4 in the last 5 minutes of the game....both he and Brooks struggled a bit late. DD
I think he's referring to the last few shots that Brooks took. It looked like he just wanted to hit 30.
How's about people let Brooks, Martin and Lowry play at least ONE GAME together before forming an opinion of who needs to be traded next? Is that too much to ask?
Brooks was much better at giving the ball up earlier and Martin was able to do his thing. Aaron did a good job of picking his spots, beating his man off the dribble, but also recognizing when he couldn't get to the basket. I liked when he pulled up for the short jumpers, instead of challenging the Spurs at the rim. Martin shot much better, but also showed he could be a creator for Brooks & the other players. At times, both players played interchangeable roles, either setting up the offense or playing off the ball.
That was b/c they stopped running the offense, they were running the clock out and in doing so the offense became a 1 on 1 show. In killing the clock, the team killed the offense, which allowed the Spurs to make it way to close at the end. Other than the last 4 minutes of the game, the offense was money all night long! Its amazing what penetration and tons of free throws can do for an offense.
