You were going for "hypocrite". And is there a specific reason you're questioning this? I'm struggling to remember any similar situations involving the Lakers. Is this somehow a reference to the Gasol trade?
How is he a hypocrite? They are not even close to being the same thing. People really need to stop whining about that Pau Gasol deal the Grizzlies ended up getting Marc Gasol who is a pretty good center.
It would be if Doc Rivers (Gay Payton) and Gregg Popovich (Brent Barry) said it. You're just reaching here.
I don't think he's a hypocrite in this case, despite me not liking him much. Btw here's the link.. http://nba.fanhouse.com/2010/02/26/phil-jackson-ilgauskas-situation-a-sham-and-charades/
Yes he is a hyprocryt. Even though the pau gasol situation isnt the same in which they traded a player away just for him to come back after a buyout. Its the same thing in which a team gets something for nothing. He shouldnt complain about lopsided trades in the NBA based off of salary. When clearly at the time the lakers gave up nothing for Pau Gasol.
Phil has been, is and, most probably, will be hypocrite. bu your baseless claim that Phil's team gave up nothing is just an outright lie. For the record, they gave up Kwame Brown, Marc Gasol (Grizz's current starting center), Javarus Crittendon (a 1st round pick)
Grizzlies also got the draft pick that ended up being Darrell Arthur (kind the Grizzlies version "Jordan Hill") and will get another 1st round pick from the Lakers for the next draft. The pick will be low, but its still something Grizzlies can use. Crittendon if he was still on the Lakers coulda been their version of Shannon Brown this year. Just he cant shoot (a jumpshot)
I vote yes, because with the Grizzlies owner it was very much trading a "money situation." That team is always losing talent and meeting the minimum payroll just for incentives resulting from revenue sharing.
Jackson is complaining about a player being traded from a team and then being released and returning to the team that traded them. How does that apply to the Gasol trade? None of the players that the Lakers traded have returned to the Lakers.
