I heard this probably about 1.5-2 years ago. Some guy was doing statistics on NBA TV and he either said the worst PER or the worst +/- was Jared Jeffries. Again, I don't have a source to look up +/- numbers per player. I tried googling but got nothing. Anyways, my question was around why his +/-was doing badly despite his pretty decent play.
She's hot and talks basketball. I'm totally in love! I'd Definitely like to see more of her. Sorry DD, she has you in the sexiness category.
You guys have really low standards if you find her attractive. Check out the dark, sunken in eyes and the manly jaws... I give her a 5 out of 10.
like i said before. Living in NY I've had ample opportunities to see Jared Jefferies play at the Garden. He's garbage.
Real fast, just want to point out that JJ is earning significant time on our team. I’m pretty sure that means all hope is lost this year.
The point is that his +/- is NOT doing badly (according to this year). Ok, so he had 2 bad +/- games with the Rockets thus far, but that's a fairly impotent sample size. If you have EVIDENCE of him having a bad +/- in years gone by, please demonstrate it. Otherwise this thread is based on a premise that doesn't exist.... +/- is a crap stat anyway. Doesn't give anywhere near enough information For example, 2 of the bottom 3 in +/- from last season Durant and Rose (Chi) [they were joined by Dahntay Jones] Jeffries had a -4 number for last year. But if you want to give that ANY weight, then you need to give his +5.2 number for this year weight... And if you want to look at his -4 number, then you could say that he's in the bottom 40% of the league (not the worst) and better than someone like, say, Landry (-4.6) - and again shaming Durant, Rose, Gay et al with their -7 and worse numbers... If someone is silly enough to put weight in +/- as a stat, and silly enough to rely only on last seasons numbers as some sort of indicator, then said person MUST ALSO be silly enough to suggest that Jeffries is an UPGRADE over Landry (-4 is better than -4.6) (Jeffries +5.2 for this season beats out Landry's +4.0 too) You can't have it both ways I'm afraid... If you value this ridiculous stat, then that's your problem.
The stat (unadjusted +/-) is not "ridiculous." Using it to determine absolute value of any given player is.
so we took some nyc garbage for a year & A half we got rid of me mac & she & mike -D we get tired of him quick if they re-sign him notice the lack of love loss where he has been BTW DIDN'T WE BEAT HE KNICKS FOR A CHAMPIONSHIP & KNICK FANS ARE LIKE CUB FANs they will cheer about all things nyk (AS IN) t- mac has played a couple of games as a knick & he has not got hurt or complained WE ARE GOING TO THE FINALS
Suppose Johnny thought that the number of minutes per game a player gets reflects his true value. Does that mean MPG is a crap stat, or Johnny is a crap analyst?
If you read my original post, I already said I'm not a big fan of +/- to judge a player. That was never my belief but you keep insisting that it is.
You're crazy dude. I'd much rather watch her if she did Rockets talk. In fact, I'd still watcher her doing Knicks talk over DD's videos because she is that much easier on the eyes . Plus she got that New Yorker attitude which makes it entertaining.
Ok - I'm sorry to 'insist' that it is. The thing I'm actually being 'insistent' on is that you're suggesting Jeffries has one of the worst +/- stats in the league, yet there's no proof offered. In fact the numbers I found suggest that he's not the worst player in the league. And, as pointed out, if you put any value whatsoever in the +/- thing, then you need to be happy that we got Jeffries to replace Landry (J's +/- being the better of the 2 players over the last 2 seasons...) Perhaps as my astute board members have pointed out, the stat itself is not crap (unless it came from the backside of someone?) but iso'ing is. The other statistical categories were driving down the street in their pimped up car and saw +/- walking by, the wound down the window and yelled out "we will iso you" What u guyz think?
