That would be a good deal if I wanted to watch more than just the first Rocky.

    WTF?!?!?!?!

Rocky is easily the best of the series and one of the better films of all time. Don't care to look it up, but I'm sure it won a bunch of awards as well.

This is one of the most absurd things I have read on this board.

BTW, thanks to the OP. I ordered a set. d

I love Rocky IV as much as the next guy, but it does not compare to the original.

Of Course not, but does it have to?

I think Rocky IV was the first one I really saw. I was born in 1980 and IV came out in '85. By the time I was even aware of the series, it was the most recent one and they one they showed on TV more often. So it has a little bit more nostalgia for me than the earlier ones.

Of course, V came out in 1990 and sucked ass.

I actually liked Rocky Balboa (Rocky VI I guess it would be) quite a bit. Definitely not more than the original, but it definitely surprised me and did an overall good job of getting back to the mentality of the original movie. However, V was absolute garbage and I wish that movie was never made.

I remember seeing Rocky IV in the theater. It just so happened I was out with my "cool" friends and we were partying it up at the mall that night. Then, in walks my "uncool" jock football teammates going to the same movie. So, I was caught between two crowds but, as you might imagine, I had to distance myself from the football team. They were cheering and going crazy the whole movie. It was hilarious and embarrassing at the same time. It was probably the most loud and vocal response in any movie I ever saw. I think the two Star Wars films were tops before that (The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi). For some reason, it was hip back then to cheer wildly whenever the main SW characters first appeared on the screen for the first time in each movie. I didn't quite get it...seeing old people literally jumping up out of their seat and cheering...but it happened and stuck with me.

But, I wouldn't pay any price to see Rocky's ugly mug in hi-def on my own TV. Besides, those movies seem to be on all the time and, if you have Netflix, you can watch them instantly. lol

Agreed. I'm a huge Rocky fan and didn't have high expectations for VI but I really enjoyed it a lot. V was an abomination.

Is "ROCKY LXIV" in it...? You know, the one on the AIRPLANE! poster? (or whatever that roman numeral was, I forget).

Can anyone find a clip of the ending of Rocky I? I can only find the endings to II-VI on youtube. The endings of Rocky I and II are some of the best movie clips IMO.
