no need to insult your fellow members over a thread conversation, shish they are right, aronne brookes is hogging, too much dribbling, preventing martin from getting shots, that is why martin is always cold on his shots because he is not consistently getting touches
That's neither here nor there. I am speaking on facts. I don't care about 40 points while playing for a bad team in the regular season. As all of the greats in history would tell you, legends are made in the playoffs. And in my circles, Aaron Brooks, while not a legend since we lost the series, has made a mark in Rockets lore for a while. Kings fans will forget about Martin after Tyreke Evans does the same thing for the next 2 or so years.
One is a proven player and scorer in the NBA. The other is an undersized shooting guard that is only in his 3rd year. I love AB but if you give any GM a pick between Martin or AB they will go with Martin bro. That shows you something. AB can't even draw fouls. What does that tell you?
Geez, you guys get you're panties in a bunch so easily, he's been on the team what for a week? It's gonna be a bit before chemistry kicks in and the team gets in-sync and everyone knows where everyone wants the ball and how often and all that junk. Give it time, Brooks-Martin backcourt will work itself out.
uhhh, Brooks had 24 pts and 8 assists last night...maybe if someone else besides him could maybe hit a fricken shot, then he wouldnt have to take it upon himself..and Carl Landry didnt get hurt, he was traded, and Martin will be fine playing with brooks, they just need time to figure each other out..its only been 3 games people, do we really need this thread yet??
if the worst defender in the league was covering you, you might get a bucket. 0.0000001% you get a bucket, unless you got game, played college ball, etc...
Well I played college ball at TCU, and I would not walk up to Derrick Fisher and say "Goodmorning kind sir. I could score 30 on you because you are the worst defender in the NBA." He obviously is an elite world class player who could destroy 90% of the worlds population on the court. My point is, don't downgrade AB's talent based on how you think Fisher stinks.
Well, there are good reasons Brooks misses Landry. #1: Kevin Martin is a ball handling SG who will play 30+ minutes. When Lowry returns, I wouldn't count on Adleman running the two guard set of Lowry and Brooks as much as he did before the trade. As scary as those lost minutes are for Brooks, Adleman now has the ability to make a defensive substitution with Lowry. #2: Martin takes a boat load of shots. A high volume shooter will take his points away. #3: With no real offensive spark off the bench, he may lose his job to Lowry. Brooks has read the handwriting on the wall, his minutes, stats and starts are likely to be lost. With Lowry's and Scola's contracts up this off-season, and the emergence of a sign and trade to acquire a player to complete a Big 3, Books' time as a Rocket may be up.
Are you serious? Wow! I'll have to check my calendar and see if my schedule and the run of the play coincide. I'd love to see that. As for the flick, it's one of my favorite films. I've forgotten how many times I've seen it.
I agree with you on everything except Martin taking a boat load of shots. The dude hasn't averaged more then 16 shots a game in any season while Landry was averaging 11 shots so only 5 more and the reason Morey wanted this guy was for his efficentness(Spelling???). I get the feeling next season one of the two PGuards will be history and, like you said, probably via a sign and trade deal.
Wow, the arguements are getting dumber and dumber... If all we need from our starting PG is to score and not much else (i.e. defense, decision making, making your teammates better, entry pass Yao and etc.), why not just sign Mike Miller to be our next PG? Well you know, he makes 55% on his 3s and he is 7 inches taller than Brooks...
This. What is going on here??? Is this something to do with the fact that Brooks has been running the show virtually the entire season and now is unwilling to make a mere pass to a guy who makes ABOUT 9x his salary? I never played anything close to professional sports, but is there such pettiness in professional sports to the detriment of a team's chance of winning?
Doesn't excuse it. I like Brooks and don't like the bashing, but if you're claiming that Brooks is not going to pass to Martin because he's worried about his minutes and starting role, then I would gladly throw him off the team. That's something that you expect Carter or McGrady to do, not Aaron Brooks, and you can't have a championship team where Aaron Brooks is your main offensive weapon. Anyways, don't believe your claim for a minute. If Lowry comes back and doesn't start, then your baseless speculation has no foothold. Brooks should be fine with Martin, and if he isn't, tough patooties. < Good. >
