Penicillin might work on the stros.

Drayton sold Houston a bill of goods. He traded away a STAR CF, and an awesome Ground ball pitcher who hits .300 as well as hustles like mad, for players that are not even close to as talented.

Houston gets a new stadium, and takes a huge plunge in talent, all so Drayton can line his pockets....

I hope Les does not do the same thing with our Rockets.

While we're talking about the Astros, does anyone think Jose Lima has IT? Based on this year's performance, I have my doubts.

Sam Cassel has it, remember his first two years in the league. Clutch for a rookie!

1994, Cassell's rookie season. Final seconds of Game 3 in Madison Square Garden. The killer 3 and the two free throws to ice the game. You can't get much more It than that.

Pippen was also the guy beaten three straight times on defense by Kobe Bryant down the stretch in Game 7 -- first for a jump shot, then off the dribble for two free throws (after Wallace fouled him), and then off the dribble again for the alley-oop to Shaq (with Pippen left completely in the dust).

The guy with It makes those plays with the season on the line, and in each case it was Bryant, not Pippen, who made the play.

Do you guy honestly think Charles didn't have IT? Man yous haven't wtched the things he did in Pheonix and Philly. In the 93 play-offs against San Antonio the Suns were down the whole game and it came to the forth quarter down by 13 and Charles scored 20 points in the 4th to go with 8 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks. Now that is IT!

Totally agree Miggidy Markell, Charles did have "It", he might not of won a championship but he was always great in clutch situations. As for Carl, me being a Red Sox fan I am very appreciative to the Astros for giving him to us. [IMG]

    Dean,
Shut up! Just kidding. [IMG] Glouting does not become you.

I mean it is so depressing as an Astros fan to see the Stros blow a game (usually in the 8th or 9th inning) and than to see the heroics of Mr. Everett every single night of the season..... How low can we go.... Forget I asked that. I seem to get my answer after each Astro's loss.

I guess I now know how the Redsox fans must have felt about trading Bagwell. And who is to say that Drayton is going to resign Bagpipes. I can see Bagpipes going to Astros management and saying I am outta here. So either I sign as a free agent or you trade me. I am sure Astros management is going to try to convince him to resign, but I can just see Bagpipes wanting out of a sinking ship. I would not rule out a mega-trade of Bagpipes which would also mean trading Biggio shortly thereafter. The two are in the same position and are good friends. I would hate to see those two leave the Stros. But I can't rule it out either. We all know that Darryl Ward is not meant for the outfield. The man has such a sweet swing. It is truly amazing. The only place where he is not a defensive liability would be at first. Darryl's best days are in front of him. Plus I think the only way we are going to be able to attract an "A" quality pitcher is going to be through our farm system or through a trade. No way are we going to get one through free agency. Can you imagine the sell job the Astros management would have to make to a decent starting pitcher. Come see our beautiful new park, Homerun Field. I mean 10 Run Field. Sorry Enron field. Where it is only 315 out to left. Yeah, I think that is going to win over alot of quality pitchers. Not to mention. Exhibit B. Houston pitchers from 1999 - Billy Wagner, the most intimidating closer in the game. Billy Wagner 2000 - you mean I have to go out there and throw in the 9th. Jose Lima and Scott Elarton - can be heard saying the same thing, only they say it at the start of each game. Damn - Elarton got lit up for 9 runs in two innings last night. And the bad news was the Astros were playing on the road. [IMG]

So Astro fans. I think it could get worse.... Be prepared to brace yourselves...

I used to think college "it" predicted pro "it", but I don't think so anymore. MD was terribly passive in his biggests college games and sucked at the free throw last year as well (a sign of a good shooter folding under pressure). But the guy seems to have proven to me he can play (Yes he still has some big games to win), I would take him on my team know. Morris Peterson had "it" last year, but Mike Miller didn't. But Trajan Landon, Scottie Thurman and Miles Simon had "it", but no longer.

It is nice to draft a player with "it" shown in college, but if it is between "it" and talent, take talent in the draft and hope the "it" develops.

The one player I have watched in college who "has it" is Scoonie Penn. Is he worth the 9th pick, probably not, just due to his size. But if we have an opportunity to trade up with our second round pick or down with our first round pick, I would love to get him, even if it means moving Francis to the #2.
Penn is projected to go very late in the 1st (I don't think the Lakers will let him get by) or early second. He is undersized, but he steps up in big games. Rookie of year his frosh year at BC, torny MVP soph year at BC, led OSU to final 4 his JR year, and Big 10 co-mvp his senior year.
    He has "it"!!!

    Alright, that's IT!!!

I need to learn to speak in third person like Duke....I mean:

HOOP-T needs to learn....ahh forget it.

    Who has it?
    MJ
    Hakeem
Chuck (on the offensive end he definitely had it)
Reggie Miller has always had it.
    Payton
Karl Malone (hate to conceed here)
    Stockton (see above)
    Rex Chapman
    Mitch Richmond had it
Chuck Person really had it years back

IT seems to pop up in strange places. I guess you can have IT without being the SH%#.

Larry Bird (I was a sixer fan before CB left)
    Danny Ainge
Dan Majerle (When CB was his teammate)
Every Rocket when CB played in Phoenix!

Sorry, Duke. It's getting hard to tell the difference between politics and comedy these days, even for those of us who can get past the first question on "Who Wants To Be a Millionaire."

Mike was "it" with teammates that had some "it" in them

Hakeem had it but didnt have anybody with close to "it" till he was getting old.

Mario had "it" and still does only against us...
Hate to say this but Stockton has "it" big time....

Rocket Players now: Stevie has "it" of course we won't know till the playoffs....Vince Carter has a regular season "it".... I still remember when Cato had "it" against Shaq in the superbowl game. I think if he's focused and determined he could have it.....especially if we're in the playoffs..that would excite him at least.....

How can anyone have regular season It? There's always another game, it's in those elimination, all-or-nothing games that you can really tell, and someone like Vince Carter went missing, big time! I have to say I liked Iverson's attitude in the playoffs this year, playing through the injury, looks like I might have to give that guy a bit more credit.

I think that Kobe Bryant feller earned some major It points tonight (though I can't escape the suspicion that he was the happiest guy in the arena when Shaq fouled out).

Even though he missed the last shot, Reggie showed plenty of It as well.

Travis Best? DemerIts for you, I'm afraid.

Yup, I'd say Kobe Bryant has "IT" right about now.

Damn, it felt like being trapped in a Michael Jordan time capsule, if you know what I mean.

I also think Sam Perkins redemmed himself for that stupid foul.

"Big Smooth" still has a little IT left in him.
