Why didn't anyone from Enron get paraded around in handcuffs?

It's all about the campaign donations.

    Just kidding.

    seriously, it probably is political...

Enron is a natural gas/oil business

    Worldcom is communications

Bush and his cronies love oil.... isn't Ken Lay some sort of advisor to the Bush administration?

    just kidding

It is also political in the sense that when the Enron scandal hit, Bush's approval rating was through the roof and we were well away from a crucial election for Republicans.

By the time of Worldcom, the public mood had definitely soured and people were calling for blood. The administration is looking for some sacrificial lambs to prove that the Republicans aren't in the back pocket of big business -- just in time for the 2002 election.

And Bush is in love with Ken Lay's wife.

    just kidding

Why not anyone from Global Crossing? Merck Pharmecutical? Etc..etc...etc...

I know its convenient nowadays to blame the Bush administration for the Enron and other corporate scandals, but there are AT LEAST as many Democrats deeply involved. This didn't just start after Bush was elected...

    Please...

I don't care what party corporate criminals support they out to be prosecuted. I hope Torricelli from NJ who's a Democrat gets booted in the next elections.

I do think Republicans have a worse record of being allied with corporations, but not really that much worse. Politicians from both parties have been in bed with these business guys for a long time.

    FB,

Torricelli should be behind bars. End of story.

But being consistent and doing the right thing would mean losing a seat in the Senate. I'd like to think that he might be outsed in by the voters, but considering how used to political corruption New Jeseyans are, I wouldn't bet on it.

Good points in your post...Republicans, like you said are more often associated by the press and opposing party (and thus much of the public) but in reality it crosses party lines.

If you believed everything that the Dems are preaching and accusing lately, you would think they have nothing to do with any of it...

Hey I agree... I mean, parade 'em all!

Actually, I'm not blaming the BA (Bush Administration) for what happened and I have no doubts that Democrats were just as involved, but don't ya just get the feeling the BA knew a little bit more than others and treated their buds differently?
