Why does everyone want Rashad Lewis. The kid is asking for way more than what he is worth. And we have a lot of player who in the future will be asking for the MAX(Ming-Griffin-Francis). He is just like Mo Taylor, though with better perimeter shooting( WE have enough of THAT). I know most of y'all hav'nt seen Keon play much. But he's one hell of a skiny 7 footer. He's like a mini-Garnett. Just not as skilled obviously. Some points on Keon Advantages: 1) Rebounds well. 2) Can play the PF postion, as well as center. 3) Faster than most PF. 4) Can take the quick first step to the basket (Handles the ball well) 5) Good passer for big man. 6) Will come cheap!!!! 7) Oh yeah i forget.....he has some CRAZI BLOCKS!!! Dis-adv: 1) Pot head.(just got arrested)...but who's not? 2) Has is good days and his BAD days. (Though not like Cato where there's only one good day in the whole year) JUst think of Ming and Keon in the middle. (Skiny little tooth-picks.....but two 7 footer toothpicks!)
yeah thats not a bad idea to get keon. if we get him we will have like a twin tower kinda thing. we would be like the spurs( hate them) but we will be better than them.
Why would Keon sign here? 1) He's not the center of the future, thats Ming. Even in the present we've also got Cato, who's not a bad backup. 2) He's not the PF of the future, thats Griffin. And we've also got Maurice Taylor and Kenny Thomas who get minutes. There are numerous other places Clark could sign where he would either start, or get significantly more playing time than in Houston. Keon Clark is an intriguing player, but it would not benifit him to sign in Houston, and I doubt he will consider us.
Keon is a great shot blocker, but our team already have a jam at the center and power forward positions. still a great player though. could work if we got rid of collier. and langhi too.
He was arrested recently. Toronto believes he is just looking for a payday. They question his work ethic. We do not need anymore questionable characters.
Keon could hold his own pretty well against bigger guys cause he can jump and change their sot reguardless of their size. He can back up the 4,5 but if we did that we'd have to give up cato. Cato is a lot bigger though. Man i don't know. Lets just say we would love to have him, but if we can't get him we won't cry about it.
For the past three years I've been contemplating some way the Rockets could acquire Rashard, and I'm just about sick of it. To those of you who don't want him because he's a crybaby, let's just say I'm glad you're not the Rockets GM. Hell, we already have players on our team with bigger character problems than Lewis, and of them is our franchise player. Lewis won't cause any stir in Houston. The fact is, he's a very good NBA player and small forward is our weakest position. So, if you can get him, then GET HIM! So, the Rockets should DEFINITELY pursue a sign and trade with the Sonics. They would be adding Lewis for a long term deal without adding to their payroll, so it would not hurt us financially. However, it would be nearly impossible to pull it off, but it could be done if a third team was involved. Maurice Taylor would be the first player I would be offering. Of course, I understand this is very unlikely. Especially, since the Sonics have said they are not even considering a sign-and-trade (not that that really means anything). But, the Rockets would be moronic not to pursue it. And since CD is not a moron, it sounds like that's exactly what he's doing. As far as signing for the MCE, I think it comes down to one question. Are you POSITIVE that Nachbar is going to be a bonafide starting NBA small forward? If you answer yes, then it would be in the Rockets best interest to pass on Lewis strictly because of the financial problems it would cause in the future. Forget about Rice and Morris. Those two shouldn't factor one iota in the decision to acquire Lewis. On the other hand, if you really aren't sure about Nachbar being a great NBA player, then why not take the financial risk and sign Lewis? Even if Nachbar turns out to just be a GOOD player, what's the harm in having a deep team? I thought that was a good thing, especially when injuries occur (ring a bell?). I don't see how anyone can be positive about Nachbar. Personally, I do think he will be great, but I am by no means 100% sure of that. So, purse sign and trade. If nothing happens there, then take a deep, long look at the financial future. Who are you going to want to resign in the next couple of years and who would you be willing to let go (Ming, Griffin, Kenny, Nachbar?)? Whose contract will be expiring in the near future (Cato, Rice?)? If its decided that it's going to be absolutely impossible to manage this financially, then forget about Lewis. If it could be done, then GO FOR IT! Basically, I'm already happy with the team we put together, but I would be even happier if that team included Lewis. Oh, sorry. I got off topic. As for Keon Clark, how many good power forwards do we need?
I think Keon would be a great pick. He would play center, for however long it takes Ming (or Cato) to develop (say a 1-2 year contract).
i had a post about keon last summer... and around trading deadline... but yall kept saying that he was too weak to be in the west... and i remember like 2 or 3 days later he had a game against the kings and he had lik 18pts and 16rebs
Paying for games like that are how Kelvin Cato and Michael Stewart got their inflated contracts. Of course, Cato's isn't all that bad these days - but Stewart's is horrible. Keon Clark is a decent PF - in the East. With his frame, he'd almost be better suited as a SF/PF in the West. I think for his production, he'll get overpaid - especially if he takes a short term deal looking for a big payday down the road. At 27 though, he's not going to develop all that much more. Not to mention what everyone else has brought up: the Rockets have a logjam at PF and C. Keon Clark wouldn't even sign here, yet alone get that much playing time.
Besides the fact that he doesn't fit in, I don't even like his game. Clark: 1. Is too thin to really defend the post well. 2. Doesn't have a real post game. 3. Doesn't have great range on his jump shot. He gets dunks and garbage buckets. Yipee.
