nobody here is denying that he's got game left. I would have loved to see TMAC finish his career here... but the style of basketball that HE LIKES to play, isnt the style of offense that RA wants to run here in Houston.

This is also the reason why we didnt bring back RON RON and took a CHANCE on Ariza.

RonROn would have helped us win a couple more games this year too.. but at what expense?

If you look at it objectively, tmac supporters will realize that this was best move for the Rockets and their future.

That is total garbage. TMAC won 56 games with Adleman 2 years ago. He was the reason we went on the 22 game winning streak. TMac is the best passing wing player in the league. He can play in any system. I don't buy the system argument. THIS WAS PERSONAL not basketball. They made it clear that they didn't like his act and hope he would suck. But guess what TMAC is a talented player that his talent ages well because he has excpetional vision and passing. We would be a top 3 team this year if we had TMAC. Now out of one game we can't tell if he is the real deal or not but if he continues there is no way we are better off without TMAC. He is a all pro player. They don't grow on trees. KMart is good but look at the points we gave up last night 125. I don't remember the Rox giving up 125 in a long time.

I am will always be a Rocket fan but I hate it when personal stuff is the reason to make your team worse.

A few weeks ago people where here saying Mcgrady had no game, we should trade him for chips and dip, that they hate Mcgrady for w/e he did to them when in reality all he wanted to do was play as a Rocket......... Now everyone is saying, yeah he scored 26 points but ah he didnt fit anyways...... Cmon now guys, we know what T-Mac can do when he is healthy...... The Knicks put up a great fight against one of the best teams in the league and Mcgrady was a huge part of that..... The Rockets lost to the Indiana Pacers...... Ok, yes... Martins first game I know...... I am being patient because I did like what I saw other than poor shooting but its acceptable no biggie..... What really bothers me is we could have had a
Mcgrady that can still play and most importantly Landry...... W/E happens there is nothing we can do about it, but I cant say it does not bothers me.... Hope we get a W and Martin can improve tonight.....

Ok, i agree with you that the Rockets used their personal differences against TMAC, but can you blame them?

Why couldnt TMac just keep his mouth shut, take his 7-8 mins/game, and prove to the team that he was worthy to keep on as a player via practice??
It takes 2 parties to cause a relationship to end in divorce. You cant keep putting blame on the Rockets organization for the decision they made.

Why dont you answer my question that i asked a few posts ago while we debate...

TMAC after this year is a free agent.

    1) What do you do when he decides to sign somewhere else...WHAT can you do you do with $8-9mil in cap space? Who are you going to have to trade away to get a legit player?

    2) If he does decide to sign to an extension with us, are we a better team next 2 years from now? Doesnt seem likely.... TMAC, more than likely, would not have signed with us for less than $10mil, which would cause us to lose flexibility in the futre.

No matter how you look at, this trade made this TEAM a better team, regardless of the results we get this year.

If we dont make the trade, our team was not getting any better, or any younger.

What makes you think T Mac would've made a difference? He wouldn't have been playing even if he were still a Rocket.

The problem with McGrady has never been his ability to score, it's been his ability to stay on the floor. Why people are so stupefied by his scoring last night is beyond me. The real surprise was that he's finally well enough to play.

I'd reserve judgment on the TMac trade until the end of the season. Will he be able to stay healthy?

I'm eager to see how things go once the honeymoon period is over and NY fans start ripping him a new one.

No T-Mac would have went 4-17 on shooting at would have blamed it on the bad depth perception that the toyota center has.

Without the trade we would have had Landry and that's the key. We probably would have won with landry.

The guy purposely shaved points and quit on a pouting showcase against Toronto almost 14 months ago. How the hell do you trust a guy like that? You don't...

If I had scored 26 in a Rockets uniform last night, we probably would have won.
