I'm mainly knee jerking on the trade. The game made me post lol. Seeing TJ drive and shoot at will. Yes, it was a lucky game for TJ but at the very least we need a real big(tall person) in the middle to prevent a part of that from happening. imo this current team we have (KevMartin + NY's assets) is not better than Landry + NY's assets i hope i eat crow but we will never know.
Has everyone on this board turned into an as***le ?? Man, everyone who puts up a new thread has to walk on egg shells these days worrying about some newbie or arrogant long timer shooting em' down. Give peace a chance people - lighten up. I've been watching this board for 8 years and this has gotten out of control. CHILL !!!!!!!!!
You mean the same system that will not exists next year. What system do you think is going to be played next year when Yao gets back? I don't see Yao running up and down the court so I'm pretty sure the Rockets will go back to system they were playing last year. Now don't get me wrong, I believe it was time to move T-Mac but people need to quite using the excuse of T-Mac no longer fit into this new system. Next year that Rockets will be a post up team again.
We JUST got to play Defense... that's all this is! Kevin Martin scoring 14 points on a low shooting percentage is not good but that did not cause us to lose.
This is hilarious....all these knee jerkers are acting like we were playing great ball and as if we were on that 22 game winning streak all over again. Havent we lost12 of the last 19 games going into last nights game? The first game after the trade where our new guys (and old guys) havent gotten assimilated to playing with each other yet, and it ends up being a loss. TRADES FAULT! We were on such a roll before then! Wheres T-Mac?! If we hadnt of done the trade and if he were still on the roster then last night he could have hel....SAT AT HOME LIKE HES BEEN DOING. Since there's so much knee jerking that goes on around here, there should be a stickied thread to merge it all..If we win we can have one where everyone praises the trade, the new guys, the genius that is Morey. If we lose it can be titled "CF Suicide watch" where everyone can sob in there and prevent these 15 new (1 star) threads that are popping up: "What a terrible trade! We were on such a roll with our current team losing 12 out of the last 19!" "Even though T-Mac got banished from the team months ago, we never should have traded him because some how he would have came out of the woodwork, checked into the game last night without any of the Rockets brass knowing and dropped 26 points on the Pacers last night" "I'm so short sighted....That one game last night sealed the deal for me, Kevin Martin is terrible, Jordan Hill (who I've never seen play, in college or the NBA) but I just look at his stats is a BUST" "I'm so short sighted, I dont even want to imagine what this team will look like with Yao and maybe another piece thanks to the assets we obtained, I want to win the championship this season! Even though we aren't even in the top 8!" Like really people? This is how most of you are sounding right now after ONE GAME....Dr James Andrews can probably make a years salary in a month after having to scope all of yalls knees
spell corrected? .... maybe Grammar corrected? i doubt it!!! relax ..I am just yanking your chain common mistake
color me orange but... (Sac/NY Deal + Amare Deal) > (Ny Deal) > (Sac/NY Deal) Sac/NY deal = the deal we took NY deal = tmac for NY's assets Amare deal = Battier + Scola + picks for Stat I hate posting these Rotation breakdowns but it is needed. Brooks/Lowry KevM/CBud TA/JJeffries Chuck/Amare Amare/Yao/DA Once Yao gets back flip Yao and Amare have him play PF Amare would have been the athletic big the Rockets are currently in need of(hopefully one of the assets we got pan out). ^that is a championship caliber team.
its all good. someone already posted should have, could have, would have so I kind of said why not correct myself.
I know it won`t be easy to fit Yao into this system. But K-Mart fits way better in with Yao than T-Mac as well. If Yao gets back and plays well, he should be our first option, and the other guys play off of him. This doesn`t mean that he should have the ball in his hands at all time, but there should be quite some plays in the book to get the ball to the big guy. The other guys of the team, however, shouldn`t just camp out and wait... there will be a lot of cutting and blocking for the guys to get open. With T-Mac it would either be a T-Mac or a Yao play... with K-Mart it`s not like that, because everyone is moving more without the ball and giving the ball up earlier. Plus K-Mart is way better as a catch and shoot guy than T-Mac... T-Mac not fitting in anymore ain`t an excuse... not only the system, but also the guys. Our team is made up of team players that work for each other. They were playing a system that worked really well for them and almost got them in the conference finals. T-Mac would slow the game down and control the game, while playing little defense. And don`t forget when you talk about next year: T-Mac`s contract is expiring. So it was all about this year and building for the future. We wouldn`t have resigned T-Mac unless he would`ve taken a real significant paycut... and after all that happened I don`t think there`s a chance he would`ve been here next season. So trading T-Mac was basically about not fitting in, both in the system and in the team...
although the deal made gave us numerous bigs to work with it did not land us a solid big to stand along and behind Yao(no homo). I hope Morey has something cooked up for the free agency pickup period b/c the current team we have is not championship bound.

The man had surgery to lower his arch (highly unusual for pacific-pan people to have significantly high arches btw) and if anybody knows anything about that, you would know that it changes everything with the type of stress-fracture Yao's been having and will never sustain again. He's a hard worker and with some electric shock therapy will be quick as what he was at his peak and probably even better.
