Yo I jis wanna say dat Tmac waz rite. The team dat gotz him got a FIERCE, HUNGRY Tmac ready to go and nearly one hunned percent.
How is that obvious? What team that could have used a 40-50% that had anything to offer us, could have offered us something better then 2 picks, a stud SG who fills a position of need, and PF prospect?
LOL more great commentary its ok i understand your frustration it sucks that we could of got more for tmac then we did it also sucks that all of you RA fans were wrong you thought Tmac was done but he still has it
BTW. We Are 3-0 against the Thunder this year. Without Tmac. It's kinda like how we get out of the first round finally...without Tmac...
Tmac is a tease, you give him a chance and he'll dazzle you with his talent and promise glory for your team. A couple of month later you'll be looking at a quick first round exit and he'll be hooking up with a new team that has more money.
That's why I'm asking you what better deals were out there at the time...IF we played Tmac? it's all 20/20 hindsight at this point, and again Morey made a nice haul and I'm good with that.
So hakeem you dont think that playing tmac would of helped us get more huh you dont think the other nba teams would be impressed by tmac. Well maybe your right but watching tmac drop 26 on 10-17 impressed me but hey im no gm
I remember when SF3 had a big first game for the Magic, too. Didn't we have some "closure" and even "appreciation" threads in here? It's over.
A contender might of taken a good look at him knowing that we were willing to dump him. The team would be getting a massive expiring contract and a proven all-star who could still play . Had a contender been able to manipulate a trade for him we could of possibly gotten more. We sure wouldn't of lost anything by playing him.
We were in the Dallas series in 2005 until the refs took us out. McGrady's had some terrible luck here and I feel for him. Had he been healthy last season or Yao the prior season, we could have gone far if not all the way. But it is what is. The Rocket's management decided last season that perhaps we needed to explore a more durable option and thus our path was set. I wish him success and I agree, we just need to live and let live.
lol come on v3 quit playing dumb your better then this. Of course i cant name what better deals were out their because im not a gm but what im saying is other gms would of offered us more for tmac if they saw that tmac still had game instead the other gms concluded that tmac was done because RA destroyed his value. Do you honestly beleive that we really wouldnt of got more if we let tmac play ?????????
Look man.. SURE TMAC has the ability to LEAD a team. BUT you need to understand that the organization is moving in ANOTHER direction. This team is trying to get younger, and faster. TMac, while he has the ability to still score, is not getting any younger or any faster. And there were no guarantees if he'd be willing to take a pay-cut to come back with the Rockets. As far as you comparing RA's ego vs. TMac's ego is irrelevant... There's only ONE ego that matters, and that's the coaches. The player is supposed to do what the COACH says. It doesn't matter the player wants. The player is not above the team. You cant put all the blame on RA. IF Tmac would have just kept practicing hard, and kept going according to RA's plan, he still might be with us. He just got a bit greedy.
You see...a player has to be ON THE block before a team even consider about trading them. What could we have got better than this? Iggy and Dalembert? Maybe Iggy and Sam help the team more this year, but it does not give us the flex we got with this deal. Amar'e? We might get him ANY WAYS this offseason with WHAT we got from our trade. Who else was out there to be had? Mayo? Mayo better than Kevin Martin? Mayo better for Yao Ming who is 30 on his last legs? Yao got time for Mayo to develop? Who else was on the block? Tyrus Thomas? Butler, Haywood? Thats just like the Iggy and Sam trade, maybe they help us now, but they do not give us the flex. Also Hill is a #8 prospect, if he even gets Landry numbers he's a steal for us...and if he reaches his potential you are talking about something that would keep this team competitive beyond Yao!
They might have but what team is going to give assets more compelling than what we got to rent him. His main value was an expiring; the ability to play was just the icing on the cake. My point is that everyone won on this deal. McGrady gets his stage to make a comeback and we got exactly what we needed. Perhaps we could have gotten something different but I'm having hard time envisioning a deal (that works under the current CBA) that would have been significantly better.
LOl thats so easy to say but the truth is RA disrespected Tmac. Tmac is a multiple time all star and nba scoring champ but RA treated him like he was a undrafted rookie the whole 8 minute fiasco was flat out disrespectful to Tmac he deserved better
