Houston Medical was cancelled as the network cited ratings that were a little too low. Apparently it was a close call to cancel the show.

Now a Houston City Council Member has started to form a group to get the show back on air.

This website has some information on it...

    http://www.coronaproductions.com/tp/television/features/houstonmedical.html

The council member is apparently trying to get a website started that links directly to ABC to show support for the show.

I think that Houston Medical was a fantastic show and that it needs to keep going....

    Damn that really sucks.

They really didnt promo that show very much, but like DD said, I think it was the best reality show on TV.

Not gonna happen. Too little return for too much money. The stupid thing is, if the NEWS and ENTERTAINMENT divisions were willing to work together, the same show could've been done a lot more economically...possibly enough so that the ratings would be enough to keep it afloat.

That sucks. We need a show that is Houston-based.

I guess the only show left is Reba on the WB... :)

And Odyssey 5 on Shotime is based here too. Sci Fi show...and I saw a Houston Chronicle paper make an appearance.

    maybe PBS can buy it.
they got "American High" after it was cancelled by FOX.
I only saw one episode and wasn't really too impressed.

You weren't impressed by "American High" or "Houston Medical."

Houston Medical. I'll support it staying on the air but I likely won't be watching it unless the one episode I saw was just an abberation of boredom.

I respect your view, but I disagree...I thought it was a good show, better than all the other "real" TV out there.

One of the shows was pretty boring though...maybe that's the one you watched.

well i'm not a fan of the reality genre anyway so maybe i'm biased.

ABC has a medical "drama" coming this fall on Wednsedays at 9 called "MDs". Judging from the commercials it looks like a bad 1 hour ripoff of "Scrubs".

The difference is that FOX got rid of "American High" after all the production work was done. PBS only bought the rights and gave it airtime. ABC has already run all of the "Houston Medical" there is. If (say) PBS wanted to do any new "episodes," someone would have to upfront all the production costs.
