    Yesterday, China vs Turkey 65:78

Yao Ming played 30 minutes in this game. His stats is: 15 points, 15 rebounds, 3assists, 2 blocks.

This is the link of the lastest and most complete stats of this game. English version (I hope so).

    http://www.tbf.org.tr/tur/0102/wc/MAC_3.HTM

In all the players of 8 teams, his rebounds is #1, block is #2 (same with the #1), points is #10, Kaybi is #2 (what is Kaybi? steal? turnover? He had 5 Kaybi yesterday.).

    see top-ten stats:

He had a good game, but not a great one. Today, after only resting 17 hours, China will compete with Brazil. This is the only chance they can enter the semi-final.

Chinese fans please go to vote for China- "which is your favourite team in this tournament?" Now China is the last one.

    Thanks W&S.

That is a good game for Ming. China has no chance in the tournament. They have no guards. I can't understand why they has so few guards to start with. Without guards, how can they defend the perimeter and even pass the ball to the centre and forwards.

My goodness, 9 assists & 26 TOs China! (If I'm reading the box score correctly)

And Yao, the C, had 33% of the total assists. :(

    No wonder they lost.

Well, at least Yao had a solid game.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't be surprised if Yao & China didn't look very good during the World Championships due to poor G play, so we should be prepared for trolls and 'honest, straight forward' posters. I have no doubts that he can play with most anyone, but sometimes you're only as good as your teammates.

    China - Brasil Game Report

Both teams had started the game miserably as the score was only 4-6 for Brasil 06:46 to go in the first quarter. From then on, the Brasilian Coach Garcia opted to increase the tempo of the game and with the contribution of his son, Filho, at the same time the point guard of the team, their strategy paid off both in set offense and the transition game. Mazuchini was at the end of offensive half court game after very good ball movement with 9 points in the quarter and Giovannoni, who had 22 yesterday against Angola, was very good at running the middle lane as he was able to score twice on trasition: one after a made basket by China and the other on a tip off a missed field goal. This highly-favored strategy was taken to another dimension when, at the 03:03 mark with a 10-15 score, Coach Garcia made two substitutions and made the critical decision to go to zone defense which helped his crew to much more easily move into the transition lanes as Brsail quickly went on a 9-2 run and finished the quarter off 14-24.

At the beginning of the second quarter, Brasil pushed even further going for the ball in the front court with a zone press. The athletic guard Garcia contiuned his spurt off then bench with athletic moves, slashing to the rim, not even afraid to challenge the humongous Yao Ming and reached double-digit scoring in only 6 minutes. The score already was a 17-point deficit for China as Coach Wang Fei was forced to take a timeout 05:55 to go in the half as his team barely took a shot at the basket with consecutive turnovers. Timeout taken was of no help as Brasil kept going straight to the basket thanks to Chinese off-balanced shots and early turnovers. Brasil scored what a team could score in a very-low tempo defensive during an etire game in just 20 minutes: 56 – 34. The substitute Garcia led all scorers with 14 and all rebounders with 8 in only 13 minutes. As expected, 22 points out of the 34 they had scored came from inside players for China as Gong Xiaobin reached 10. Yao Ming had only 4 points and 2 boards in just 9 minutes of playing time. Brasil got scoring contribution from all 10 player who had played in the half with an impressive 55 % field goal percentage and levelled off any physical disadvantage by killing China on the boards 23 to 12. China knew that if they had any chance of getting back into the game, it would and could only be in the third quarter. However, they could not have possibly expected to face a Brasilian team that hit 6 of their first 7 shots including 3 treys. Machado was on fire when he started the 16-2 run by which Brasil doubled the score of China at 36-72 on 06:22 to go in the third quarter, with 8 tremendously quick points in 86 seconds. Yao Ming was the only Chinese player that showed any kind of presence on the court, going for 3 consecutive post-up buckets by showing what an arsenal of moves he maintains when fed with the ball at the right spot. The quarter ended with the score of 48-83.

The fire that the Brasilian team had caught off finally seemed to lessen at the beginning of the ifnal quarter as they only scores 2 points in the first 3:30 of the final quarter. All parties lost interest in the game as the concentration level dropped down. The final score was 62-97. The baalnced scoring of Brasil was obvious with 10 players scoring, each at least seven and five in -double figures. Mazuchini led everybody with 15. Giovannoni had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebound. Filho and Machado combined for 11 assists and 4 steals. Brasil hit 11 for 19 from the 3-point land. Bateer led the Chinese team, who had no players more than 5 rebounds, with 14.

another reason for only 18 minutes is because he probably didn't play the 4th quarter in such a blowout loss.
