    Are you kiddin??

TMac will be playing in China next year. Thats the only place where he will get a contract that will be anywhere close to the size of his self inflated ego.

And perhaps be playing pro basketball overseas? Him going overseas next season to play more pro basketball sounds like a plan to me. IMO, he needs to play a significantly lighter schedule than the 82-game schedule of the NBA's if he was to play on for a few more seasons of pro basketball since he's been injured too much for the past five seasons, which means to me that his body isn't able to take such a grind.

To me, that seems like one of the most logical destinations for T-Mac to play pro basketball next season.

He won't go overseas. One thing that one guy observed about T-Mac that I think is true is that while basketball a game and something you have to win at for true superstars like Kobe and Lebron, T-Mac seems to view it as a job. If no one wants him in the NBA, I have little doubt he'll just retire and enjoy himself as he's said he has enough money.
Frankly, I will say that whatever his massive faults, I will bet anything that you will not see Tracy McGrady bankrupt ala Antoine Walker in 10 years or so. I don't think McGrady's an idiot, after all, so he'll probably use it for himself pretty well. Lucky b*stard.

For those who can't wait, the #NBA Store in NYC will have Tracy McGrady's new No. 3 #Knicks jersey and shooting shirts on sale tomorrow.

In spite of all the acrimony in the last year or so, I wish the guy sucess and hope he gets the first round monkey off his back. It'd be a shame if he didn't. He was too good to have that stigma attached to him.

I have to admit, I'm pretty curious to see how well he plays in New York. I think he can put up 20/5/5 with D'Antoni's style of play. However, if they think McGrady is gonna run a lot, they should probably think again. Even when he was a superstar he didn't run much (in spite of what he says to the contrary).

As an aside, has there ever been another player that was as good as he was for such a short time?

tmac was all-nba for 7 years, so i wouldn't say that's a "short-time." if you mean by arguably the best player for a 2-3 year period, then yes.

grant hill and penny are 2 other guys who were on their way to all-time status before destroyed by injuries

    Wish him all the best.

From the way he looked I think he can still game. We'll see I guess. Sad to see his skillset leave the team, I don't think many players can do what he did. But of course I won't miss his antics.

T-Mac will get more than a vet minimum, so he won't be in NY.

He will be out of the league by next Christmas. Not because he can't play in the NBA anymore but because he isn't good enough to be a first or second option on offense and he is mentally and emotionally unable to take a supporting role on any team (contender or not).

He'll play with NY, sign with another team over the summer and quit once he realizes his new team isn't going to structure the offense around him while at the same time expecting him to play defense. He'll pass on that and say he's retiring because "he lost his passion for the game." or some BS like that.

Precisely. McMouthy opens his pie hole again and sticks his big ass foot in it. You'd think the guy would learn one day to just shut up.

If T-mac couldn't handle us talking trash about him just wait until he gets some of that good ole New York hospitality.

Yeah, that's what I meant. He was otherwordly for those years in Orlando and at times during his first year in Houston. After that he went to "really good," to "always injured," and now ?????

I doubt that there are more than 3-4 backcourt players in NBA history with more talent than Tracy McGrady. Pity.

Antoine Walker allegedly blew his $110M. The guy hasn't been out out the league that long at all.
