How good do you think they are at developing talent? Carl Landry and Aaron Brooks come to mind as players that developed a lot from the time they were drafted. Carl had struggles in summer league and was lucky to get a contract. Aaron developed slowly, but was solid by the midpoint in his second season. Dorsey even looked a lot better this past month. I don't give all the credit to Morey for selecting gems...Adelman and his staff had to do some polishing.

Their next project is Jordan Hill. He looks to have offensive rebounding down, but needs to learn to box out most likely as his defensive rebounding is subpar. His FG% is atrocious especially considering how many offensive boards he gets, but this could be a result of having to play center some for Knicks. According to 82games.com, he shoots 52% when playing PF spot and does a better job defensively against PFs. Best shotblocker on team beside Jeffries. Does a decent job of getting steals. Here's to hoping for some good work from the coaches.

If anybody can develop him into something....Adelman's staff can.

If he's willing to put in the work, then I see a good future for him.

I'm really not that in love with Adelman like a lot of the users here.

It may take until the end of this season, or next year, but I think Hill is going to be a nice surprise. Getting Hill was the topper to the trade, the cherry on top.

neither am i, but i don't dislike him. there are just a few things i don't agree with. i think we're in good shape with him as coach though, he knows the game, played it, coached it, has pretty good resume. however as of late i feel like things have broken down, and i expected the allstar break to give them time to fix their issues, now they'll have a new project, and then a new one next season with yao, ill decide on him then

Morey and Adelman are really a one-two punch for young talent. Morey has an eye for potential while Adelman has the ability to bring every drop of that potential to fruition. Jordan Hill could not be in better hands, at this point.

Let's be honest though, who would have dreamed that we would have gotten this much production out of this team? And he's been fair to everyone on the team (with maybe the exception of Brian Cook but I'm not sure he deserved to play anyway). What I mean is, he has given every single player an opportunity. Some make the most of it, some don't.

I think that if they could motivate Dorsey and turn him into a prospect that had all of us excited then they have a decent chance of doing the same with Hill. Will it work? Who knows but I can't wait to see a team with some height and length on it!

Houston has always been known to develop big guys better than some teams. I think the importance of the bigman in the princeton style efficient ball sharing basketball is important. They have to know how to be corner stones to the offense where being in the right spot for off ball screens and picks is essential to getting open looks for team mates at the basket. Hill demostrated a knack of understanding that after you set a screen off the ball where to be for a pass and open look and is very capable of knocking down a shot. This is why from a high-post being a very good passer is important and knowing and understanding your team mates motion and how to handle a situation near the back end of shot clocks. Even bigman can slash to a basket opening up things something and creating mismatches in the post. The whole point of the offense is to make playing team defense much more difficult for the opponents. There is always ball movement and player movement and more backdoor movement around the basket for easier baskets. Having bigman playing the high-post and creating space around the basket for dribble iso penetration is important. Having bigman who knock down jumpers and set screens and ability to make the extra or right pass is essential.
