Well, actually, let me correct myself here. There is the very, very, very small chance that Brian Cook could have been included in a sign-and-trade package for a major free agent this summer, simply as roster filler to get to the absolute minimum in salary that Houston would have to give to the free agent's prior team. Of course, (a) Cook would have to agree to the new deal, (b) the other team would have to be willing ( ) to take back his salary for another year (not necessarily at $3.5M, but at whatever number made the trade work). Again, that would be VERY unlikely to play out, so better for Les to save a few thousand bucks here. Lord knows he'll need it next year.
With what??? His intro to the Kiss Cam bit at games? That's about the only highlight I can think of involving him.
So if it's a buyout, are we paying him less than what he is owed on his contract? Why wouldn't they just waive him?
Dude was a FANTASTIC cheerleader. Will be missed on the bench. But I'm glad Temple is back. I'm liking this guy a lot, nails when he drives it in to the rim. Amazing moves to go around the guy trying to draw a charge, and the ability to finish with his body bent so awkwardly.
Good Bye Cook. cue the Farewell highlights... <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/dyMdShjtEfw&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/dyMdShjtEfw&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>
