I have recently started using a digital camera that my family received for Christmas...What is the type of picture that takes the least amount of space?(Gif, .JPG, Bitmap)

Also, is there any way to make the camera take the pictures in that format? On my trip to LA, I was limited to taking 14 pictures.

I'm not sure what the smallest file is, but the best file is .jpg. You may be able to manipulate your camera to take a smaller picture. My digital camera has a setting where the pictures it takes are designed to be attached to email. I could fit 96 of them onto a 16MB memory stick. Consult your owners manual to see if this is an option for you. Another option is to get a larger memory stick. A 32MB stick runs around $35.

BTW...Once you download the pictures into your computer, you likely can change the picture size. So if you choose the smaller pictures, you're not married to it.

Hey check out cnet-shopper or ebay for Flashcards. Flashcards are what allows your camera to take more pictures. Flashcards provide flash memory.

Anyhow I got a 128 mb card for around $60 on ebay a little while ago. Brand was sandisk I think.
