WOW...simply WOW...I just got back, saw the articles and still can't believe we were so close to pulling this shocker. I will say if its true we offered what it's said we did and it was about the physicals then something seems wrong there.

I call b.s. on this rumor, no way the Rockets were going to take a chance on whether Amare could coexist with Yao. If they talked to Phoenix, I also doubt Scola was in play.

I get the feeling that at the start of the season next year, we're going to have either Bosh or Iguodala.

better not give up one of those picks for someone who might leave especially when everyone keeps saying he wont stay in Houston

it was reported by espn.com and yahoo WOJ that minnesota was willing to trade al jefferson for an athlethic small forward, to break up the slow moving frontcourt of kevon love and al jefferson both only 6'10 and play same postion powerforward. jefferson is much cheaper than amare

Unless Amare would have signed an extension before being traded, this deal would have made no sense... No way he would have re-signed with us with Yao clogging up the paint next year. Plus, why give PHX the picks from NY we just worked so hard to get?!? I'm glad the trade didn't go through IF an extension wasn't going to be worked out before hand...

Maybe Amare isn't completely healed from his eye or knee surgery? Or Battier is hiding his pornstache? Maybe Scola isn't even a legal citizen and the Suns asked about his green card? I kid, I kid! But seriously, what coulda possibly been the real reason? This sounds like a case for Sherlock Holmes!

His contract is for 17 million next year and there's no way he'll get that on the open market. Many assumed that Boozer would opt out last year too...

Your statement proves you have no knowledge about basketball. Last time I checked a perinial all star who has serious skills and is the most athletic PF in the NBA isn't a bum.
