I know this is another thread about Morey but I want to know which do you prefer with the poll. Wow! What a stroke by genius by Morey! When I first heard about the Kings trade, I was disappointed because I think it was not a good move. I like Landry. At the back of my mind, I was thinking that there is something fishy with this trade. I think there was something more. Just by reading the news of the Kings trade, it looks finalized. But we were all fooled by it. It was just a ploy to broadcast it and to make the Knicks panic. Before the announcement of the Kings trade, I think the Knicks was not willing to give up Hill and the draft picks. But Morey did a strategy I never heard of. Leverage is what he did and he can possibly do it again in the future. (I hope other GMs won't copy his style) For the Poll: 1.) Do this current trade = I agree with this trade a little bit more than the first proposed Knicks trade because I don't want to lose Landry. I think not all of us can have the patience of doing what Morey did and just wait for the right opportunity. Having Martin, Hill and draft picks is Wizardry! 2.) Cancel this current trade = Do other trades possibly minimal at best similar to the Lowry deal. We can do the Chicago trade or any other trades. 3.) Do the Kings trade only = I would have been disappointed because we got the short end of the deal. I would be willing to part with Chase,Lowry or Scola than Landry. With Brooks 50/50. 4.) Do the Knicks trade only = I would have settled for this trade because of Hill and the draft picks. I think this was better than the Kings trade. 5.) Do any trade without Landry involved = The Knicks trade did not include Landry so I liked it better. They can do other trades without our young prospects. There are some who say in this forum that we won't be able to retain Landry because of a higher asking price, past price negotiation, and this and that. You know what! It can happen to developing great players. It can happen to AB,Chase or anyone. It is a given. We want them to be great and naturally they will ask for a higher salary. I would still take the risk of retaining Landry and hoping that he will be with us in the long run. 6.) Stay Put, Let Tmac expire = Try signing a good free agent. Risky because we might get nothing in return. Overall I give Morey a 8.5/10. Kings 8/10. Knicks 7.5/10
half of the people would have given up way more to get iggy or butler LMAO. thats why Morey is Morey and the rest of us are mere mortals.
Deep down, I wanted a health Tracy and Landry. Since we can't have that, I like the trade. Martin is the next best thing. Landry is my favorite Rocket, and I wish nothing but the best for him.
The Kings said if the deal didn't involve Landry then they wouldn't trade Martin. Morey made the best possible trade and kicked ass at the same time. We need a consistent wing scorer and that is what we got with K-Money.
wow not even one voted for the the Kings trade. Are our assets good enough to get a superstar Free agent. Is that what Morey is doing? stockpiling for assets? Anyone happy with our current roster?
