I think he will never be a 17 ppp player because of lack of minutes and balls, but he has potential to be a very good rebounder, so more than 15-7 I would predict a 12/13-9/10. Add a good defensive presence, and you got a good frontcourt piece valid for a contender.

Kelly Dwyer claims that the 2011 NY pick is lottery protected. Is that true? Sounds way different than # 1 protected. I also find it hard to believe that the Knicks would do that too.

Im quite certain its pushed backed
and once its pushed back the protection gets less

I believe this is the story with the Jazz with the Knicks pick

If I'm correct, Dwyer said if the Knicks WIN the lottery (ie. #1), then it's protected.

I can't wait for Bima's thread on the salary cap implications of all of this. The thing that has me most hyped (besides the fact that I am a fan of Martin's) is next year Yao comes back, and if it doesn't work out for any reason we can blow it all up with I think only Hill, Budinger, Ariza, and Martin (all on decent deals for their talent level) locked up past next year.

I think it's a given that we will re-sign Brooks, Lowry, and Scola, but I'm interested to hear his estimates on how much that will leave us with cap-wise. Could we sign a max player like Durant and Yao at a reduced rate? I also can't wait to hear his assessment on the draft pick protection since that seems to be up in the air.

Guys....who will be the best point guards available in this years draft? I think with all this S&T stuff Morey's talking, that I think we will make a strong push for Bosh in the offseason, and Brooks would be a key part of the deal.

What I would like to see would be another Morey target Rubio heading here. Somehow we need to get Amare/Bosh and Rubio in Houston. We have expiring contracts in Battier and Jeffries, draft picks and great assets in Scola and Brooks.

But wouldn't a combination of those players/picks have to be included in order for us to get Bosh/Amare?

Can somebody explain the scenarios with the pick. What happens if the Knicks get the number one pick next year. Does it go 2013 Unprotected? Do we still get the right swap later? Little Help?

Yep someone a little more imaginative than me needs to come up with a three way deal sending out Battier/Jeffries, Brooks and Scola for Rubio and Bosh/Stoudemire.

Brooks IMO is like Landry you have to sell high. Let Lowry takeover, better passer and better defender. You have scorers in Martin, Yao, and Bosh/Stoudemire. You need someone to deliver the ball and play good D.
