if they're really willing to pay whatever to keep these guys around, then that is very good news. i hadn't realized until someone made a thread earlier how close we were going to be to the LT. and of course we have a pretty good cap situation the following year so i was hoping les would bit the bullet for one year since it would only end up being just this one year (especially after the money this deal saved us by getting under this year's LT).
Yeah, I heard that, too...did a little happy dance! But he said something else interesting today. He pointed out that these moves do not remove the Rockets from any Tier 1 free agent discussions. He pointed out that the way things are set up, having assets for a sign & trade is just as, if not more valuable than cap space. Remind me not to play chess against this guy!

Oh, I dunno. Remember last year in the play-offs when Scola tore the Blazers up when they doubled Yao without the ball?? Now just imagine teams doing that to us with Martin instead of Artest out there.
I hope this stays true until the time to sign them. With Landry now gone, these are two players that are vital to our success in the future. These are two of the hardest working players in the NBA and are on the best team for that. My only fear is that it is only a matter of time before Lowry becomes a better offensive player and becomes "trade bait."
Wow - you're a real bundle of joy aren't you? Newsflash for ya: Scola has been the starting PF for most of his career. Landry never once started in his place. Scola can't dunk as well, isn't as good a scorer, but is probably better in all other facets of the game.
Dude read my post again. I was happy with Landry, but the decision was easy. I love Brooks, but if there is another star and 3 lotto's, excuse me 4( Armstrong) Lotto's to be had then, it will be another easy decision. I never said the rockets "should do" anything, I simply posed a question.
You're digging a pretty lonely foxhole, man. This is one of the best trades in Rockets history, in my opinion. I can't believe Morey got so much with so little. Simply amazing. And I'm thrilled to hear about Scola and Landry. It's the icing on Morey's cake. Mine too!
We shall see about going over the lux tax. if someone offers scola 6m and lowry 4m, in scola's case they would probably match i guess. Lowry as a 4m backup, i dunno especially with brooks probably commanding 6.5m. I still think they should stay active and try to add more talent which i think the will.
Can you imagine having two players like Martin and Lowry that can draw fouls like there is no tomorrow playing together? We won't have to imagine! We will get to see it firsthand! Just freaking awesome.
Did this need its own thread? Really? Isn't this kind of like making a thread for Breaking News! POPE CATHOLIC!
Scola not a good scorer ?? He can practically score from every place on the court, he is indeed an scorer but he is not used as an scorer.
