The aftermath of this trade plays into the evil side of Morey... he now gets to spend a couple of years monkeywrenching any move the Knicks try to make.

    This should be fun.

(And count me in the group that doesn't think NY will get LBJ or two other big names.)

Chicago is a big market, but they weren't such a big basketball town until MJ, and look what he became in terms of marketing, and making the Bulls very relevant. I think LeBron can continue to help Cleveland, which is also so close to his home of Akron.

I don't think it such a given that LeBron goes to NY just because they get another big time player. They have NOTHING to go along with those 2 potential superstars and it will take years for them to piece it together. Cleveland is in contention now and is setup to be a legit Finals contender for years to come. Personally, I don't think LeBron wants to start over and don't think he'll go to NY just because of the money he can make.

NY very well could continue to be a mediocre team for the years to come.

What a sick deal. I was very skeptical about the trade, really hoped that NY would jump in. Now we have two NY picks to play with. Just imagine what Morey can do with high picks when he drafted Brooks, Landry, and Chase in late 1st and seconds.

I have a new favorite Houston Rocket and his name is Morey!!!!!

I love this trade, mostly because we get the draft picks. I've always been a big fan of Kevin Martin and his efficient scoring, but I am so tired of being riddled with injured players that bringing him on does scare me a bit. I think it was definitely a chance we had to take however. Getting Hill was just icing on the cake.

Like others have said, we were going to lose one of Scola or Landry, and it would be likely Landry would cost us more. Trading Landry while he was at the peak of his game and Martin while he was at the low point was a great move by Morey. Because Scola does not rely on athleticism, he has less injury potential and should be productive much longer into his career than Landry.

I think we made out like bandits, especially if the Knicks don't do well for the next couple of years, and Martin can stay healthy.

I give Morey a 9.5/10 on this trade. The only reason I didn't give him a 10/10 is because of Martin's injury history. It's not a single recurring injury, so that is definitely a positive. I'm already looking forward to next season!

    Best scenario:
Kevin Martin doesn't get into any more freak collisons, gels on a good team. Hill develops to his potential and we get the 2nd pick in 2011 and 6th pick in 2012, all of whom turn out to be superstars. Rockets dynasty. :)

    Worst scenario:
Kevin Martin is injured chronically and shoots sub40%, Hill continues to be a bust. NY does manage to get LBJ and both of those 2 picks fall way low and become worthless busts. Rockets fall off the map. :(

Still seems kinda risky but in value right now it's an awesome deal.

The only thing worse than the Knicks being really, really good is them being really, really bad.

If they end up with the top pick overall in 2011, they keep it.

If they get a top 5 pick in 2012, we don't get it.

I'd rather have two 30th overall picks than no picks.

Wow. "If he picks another Aaron Brooks or Carl Landry..."

What if he picks another Joey Dorsey, Chase Buddinger, Taylor, Conroy, Temple...?"

And considering where The Hawks are right now in the East, I'd pencil in Joe Johnson/Amare' Stoudemire Knicks for the playoffs...

This is a serious question...with the way Morey destroyed Walsh how will GMs across the NBA look at doing business with THE MASTER?

What pisses me off is we are keeping a 3.5 million dollar cheerleader who can't hit a field goal, yet we trade someone who averages 16 per game, I don't see any logic in that, thats why I favored the NY deal, they were willing to take Cook, now we're stuck with him till the end of the season.
