Do you like the trade? I kinda do, Kevin Martin is what we needed I a true 2 guard. Next year we HAVE to resign Scola and Lowry for this trade to really work. If we resign them then our line-up next year would look nice: Brooks/Lowry Martin/C-Bud Ariza/Battier Scola/Hayes Yao/???? If we do this are need would be a good back up Center either by the draft or trading for a decent back up.
I like it. I'm a bit hesitant due to Martin's durability issues but the guy fills a huge, huge void in the lineup. His addition certainly outweighs the loss of Landry. Of course, only time will tell but if Martin can be somewhere between the player he is this season and the player he was a few seasons ago then we're set at SG for a while.
this thread is a game-changer. I have never seen such unique, cut throat analysis. Redundant? no. Will you marry my daughter, basketball savant charles jones?
If today ends with the Rockets getting a good PF/C to replace Landry and we rid ourselves of Cook, it MIGHT turn out ok in the end... As it stands right now, it's not a good trade.
agreed.. Kmart is the ultimate one dimensional player... just scores and thats it.. . plus ourline up no where near puts us in contention with the lakers or mavs.. oh well.. maybe we get another star somehow in hte offseason
class is in session, landry was essentially a 'one thing' type of PF especially asof late, his rrebounding has steadily declined recentlyI love him but Carl has been fairly one dimesional and sometimes was a defensive liability at times its just the honest truth.. traditionally, a 2 guard ONE main priority is to SCORE the dam basketball and thats wat he doe, hes a dynamic scorer and thats EXACTLY wat we need, now Chase is the mandatory scorer off the bench and quite frankly idt we will miss a beat.. Landry was really good but we are def better after this trade
This season we are 1/2 against the Lakeshow and 2/2 against the Mavtricks. Both without stars. This team, since last season has been only one scorer away.
He is turning the team into a bunch of wusses. Andersen, Martin, Brooks... and Battier is going to be gone. I do not like the direction the Rockets are going. The trade is horrible for the fact its one injury prone player for another. Do we really want to go through that again.
As of this moment, I'm not thrilled about the trade. Losing Carl Landry was a big downside especially if no other trades come through. Obviously Martin will be able to contribute but his injury problems scare much as much as Tmac's do. But if a trade needed to happen, I am not necessarily opposed to this one.
You are sadly mistaken if you really believe that this team is simply lacking one scorer to become a championship team.
We finally got that guy who isn't afraid to penetrate and get to the free throw line. So many doors have just opened. I'm going to seriously miss Carl Landry, but we all knew it was inevitable we would lose one of our young, CHEAP talented rotation players. Resigning Luis Scola should now be our first priority in the offseason. He may be aging a tad, but he's got that winning pedigree. B Buy out Kenny Thomas, get him the frick out of here. I'm more with the tank crowd now, we gotta draft another back-up PF. Patrick Patterson would like very nice in a Rockets uniform. He will probably be available late lottery (unless we hit the jackpot with our draft position) since the Kentucky team is so stacked and his minutes are limited.
