number 9 pick and Walt Wiliams!!!!

Of Course Croshere is a free agent, but he can very well come to the Rockets in a sign and trade; being that this is the only viable option to acquiring this immensley talented basketball player.

Croshere just will not come to Houston as a free agent!!!!!! It's a sign and trade or NO CROSHERE. [IMG]

What about the #9 pick and Drew?

Yes. Because if we do this, some or all of the trade exception can be kept to go for an even bigger prize later. We would probably have to give up the 9th pick in most scenarios that I've heard. But that pick carries no cap value, so the exception would have to be used. With Walt (and maybe Drew added too) you can keep a large part or all of the exception to use later.

That above response was to the question about the 9th and Walt. If it's Drew, yes I'd probably still do it, but I might rather involve Walt. It comes down to what you think is more valuable- Walt or the exception. To me, it's the exception.

it's not the only viable option. Why would Indiana want Walt? Why take on the extra salary?

I personally wouldn't consider Croshere "talented". Darius Miles is talented. Dermarr Johnson is talented. Kevin Garnett is talented. Croshere is a tough hard working player, sort of a blue collar type. He's not very blessed athletically compared to others.

I do like him a lot, but as you see in other threads, getting him may not be the smartest basketball maneuver.

    NikeStrad,

So what would you consider Larry Bird, or Moses Malone?

Sometimes working hard is a talent, no?

DaDakota-skilled and/or polished. Polished and talented are totally different things. I wasn't saying that not being talented makes you not as good as someone who is, just different. Most guys who have a load of talent don't reach their potential. If Jermaine O'Neal, or Cato, or even Leon Smith worked as hard as guys like Bird and Croshere, they'd be superstars. The problem is, they don't.

Right now the #9 and Walt are just worth more than Croshere.

I guess that depends on your view of Croshere.

I see him as a young Rudy T..an 18-10 guy, kind of in the Tom Gugliata mold.

I think Croshere is going to develop into a potential All-Star player.

The rockets would have to have their heads checked if they were to give up the 9th pick for Croshere, especially when he is a free agent. Its scary to think that Rudy has never drafted this high especially in such a deep lottery. The 9th pick is worth much more than people think.

    ***********************************************************

You are so right about the 9th pick and our Rox ability to do the right thing w/it .. yeah, they have pulled Cats(get it?) out of the hat before (see CM and big O )but up to this day I am dreading what they are going to do with it (with the 9th pick the rockets pick Refugio patricksmile.. who tha f**k is that ?? that kinda player , know what I mean? ).... More than likely it will be someone we never heard off before even though some of the players we the fans talk about are still available ... it sucks to say this but we have to trust them , just one thing .. ROX PLEASE DON'T PULL ONE OF THOSE SCENARIOUS that I just described.....

Yea I guess your right I kinda dont trust Rudy and the rockets either when it comes to the draft. They have only pulled a cat and a Cassell and a Horry and a Harrington and a Dickerson and a K.Thomas.

Who said Leon Smith was even talented? He was only a top 25 kid coming out of high school.

Dakota no offense, but there is no way in hell Croshere gets even close to being an 18-10 guy. Like I've stated before, some people in here are getting a little bit carried away with Croshere. 10 reb would be like a career high for him, the way he played against the fakers tonite. I would not trade Cato, or Kenny or Carlos or anyone from our team to get him. Well maybe Walt because of his high salary. Would I like to have him - well yeah I would. Only if he plays 3. He would get killed by all the 4's in the Western Conference. Get him only if he signs a free agent contract with us. Unless Indiana takes on Walt and Drew for him. As for trading away the 9th pick for him, I say to hell with Croshere. Of course if we get him and he turns out to be bad ass I will feel stupid as hell and be the first one to apologize.

You wouldn't trade Carlos for Croshere? No offense, but that's is just about the most ridiculous thing I've heard in a long time...
