the Martin trade is agreed by both teams and the only reason they're holding it for the Knicks to get in is if that can make both teams feel more comfortable by making the trade. on the Rockets side, I think the only concern is to include Landry in the trade (Hilton/Sergio/KT all expiring contracts.) If Knicks' in, I think the 3-way will work this way:

    Knicks receives: T-Mac

Kings receives: Hughes (expiring contract) + 8th pick Jordan Hill (To replace Landry) + Knicks' 2012 1st pick (to Sweeten the deal on the Kings' side) + Dorsey

Rockets receive: Martin + Jeffries (bad contract) + either Nocioni or Urich's bad contract (to Sweeten the deal on the King's side) + option to swap picks w/ NY in 2011 (to sweeten the deal on the Rockets' side)

Rockets take back Jeffries' and one of Kings' bad contract in order to keep Landry and the option to swap picks w/ NY in 2011.

other than this, I don't see a reason for both teams waiting for Knicks to be involved.

that won't happen. the most I think could happen is we get a draft pick switch for Sergio. The knicks want Sergio too.

    I want Hill though.

Uh, your proposed 3-way trade is even worse than the current deal. Why would Houston want to take on a bad contract from NY and SAC to just trade places in the draft?

Oh, I guess you're saying we get back Landry, but I didn't think you could turn right around and trade him back to the same team ... I guess we'll need one of the contract experts to figure that one out.
