Woj says houston gave up on the knicks deal.

I dont see why Kings do this without landry involved.

ok confirmed from Woj as I type

T-Mac, Landry and Dorsey for Martin, Kenny thomas, hilton Armstrong and Sergio rodriguez

    Bima! where are you!

The Sacramento Kings have reached an agreement in principle with the Houston Rockets on a trade that will swap Kevin Martin(notes) for Tracy McGrady(notes), league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Along with Martin, the Kings will send Sergio Rodriguez, Hilton Armstrong(notes) and Kenny Thomas(notes) to the Rockets. Joey Dorsey(notes) and Carl Landry(notes) will go to the Kings.

First off, who cares what Tmac wants.

Secondly, he doesnt care what team he goes to as long as he gets some PT.

Thirdly, I am not a big fan of this deal either. Im so torn....

I think we end up with Hill as the price for McGrady moving to New York and Landry going to Sacramento. It's the only way trading Landry makes any kind of sense. Hill becomes Scola's backup and young 4 in training.

but then i was like

I'm not gonna be too satisfied if we lose Landry. We better be getting Hill in return.

I can understand KMart. But what are the other scrubs we're getting from Sac going to do for us? It's all salary crap, right?

One of the posters had it right. At some point Landry will have to leave Houston because his performance this year is worthy of a hefty contract that we honestly cannot afford.

Remember that he is still a bench player, doesn't rebound, and has probably hit his ceiling.

I wish we could have gotten soebody like Francisco Garcia while we were at it though.

IN the end I don't think the story is over. McGrady is going to get flipped to the Knicks. We might be getting another power forward from the Knicks to even things out.

In the end the Knicks will get Landry, we will get Martin, Knicks will get McGrady. Everyone picks up a coveted asset.

Martin sucks. Rockets have already proven that you can't win a playoff series with a SG that plays only 50-60 games a season. whopee-do. Rockets get to repeat the T-Mac mistakes all over again for several more years. If the Rockets had gotten the Knicks picks, they would have had 2 chances of getting an impact player. Now, they are guaranteed to have a fragile SG that can't stay health enough to play in the playoffs.

Rockets=Perennial First Round Fodder again

Maybe DM knew Landry would not be resigning with us after we pick up his 3rd year option. That up-playing the knee injury after his rookie year could have left a bad taste with Carl's agent and DM knew it.

    Maybe?

hopefully, although i'm still not sure why the Kings want LAndry with hawes and Thompson, neither are truly centers...maybe Hawes, but then that turns either Thompson or landry into a back up, and both of them deserve to start..

It better be hill from NY or the king better give us Hawes or Thompson instead of Armstrong..

I don't like losing Landry. No one does. I am however surprised that we're not taking a bad contract in this (specifically Nocioni or Udrih). Hilton Armstrong is actually not a bad pickup as a guy who can be Yao's backup. Not sure where Sergio Rodriguez fits in.

I wonder if we're looking to flip K9 Thomas to NY for Jeffries and Hill. Knicks would get their capspace, and we'd get 4 with potential to replace Landry.

Also worth noting, looks like this deal chops off 3-3.5m from our salary, putting us under the luxury tax.
