Contrary to an earlier report, the deal sending Tracy McGrady to New York in exchange for Jared Jeffries, Larry Hughes, Jordan Hill, and a 2010 draft pick is not dead despite a lack of consensus on whether the draft pick would be protected or not.

It's hard to say who may be blinking in this deal, since Houston stands to get nothing if they can't move T-Mac, while New York desperately wants to shed salary. In any event, for those of you holding onto T-Mac in hopes he can provide some marginal value, this gives you a ray of hope as the deadline nears.

You think TMac is a high caliber trade asset? If so why arent teams lining up for him?

Well sacremento has a really bad record, so with their high pick in the draft it might be worth it....

    possibly john wall...

depends on the pick protection; however, udrih and nocioni are negative values and unless that pick is a top 5 Kings/bulls get away with highway robbery at the rockets' expense.

    LOL we went from

Iggy to Butler to NY Trash(its trash with Jeffries contract) to Kings Trash

Rockets screwed themselves by waiting too long and not playing T-mac more than 7 minutes.

Somehow T-mac got the last laugh, especially if we get TRASH.

Wow, why don't we wait at least until 2:00pm tomorrow before making a judgment. I have a feeling Morey may surprise us.

Funny, so many of you have been on morey's sac all year. This whole tmac saga has BACKFIRED on the organizatio. Now that reality has set in we all realize playing tmac was the best option all along. By decreasing his minutes so drastically we've lowered his value to the likes of unproven rookies and garbage time scrubs. Never would've guessed Brad Miller was the ?borderline superstar? we'd end up trading for. But never mind, in morey we trust

Half the deals made at the deadline aren't even known until later that evening.

I'll give Morey until 8:00 pm tomorrow. ;)

I'll take it if it's only top 3 protected. a good chance it falls 4~7 and that might worth it! If Minny gets the #1 (w/ point guards: Ricky Rubio/Jonny Flynn/Ramon Sessions) they just might trade it for #4~7 + our own pick (#11~#15) + some other assets

    John Wall anyone? ;)

No not really. I think it indicates just about as much as the Rockets are willing to take on. So evidently it must suggest that its a offer to atleast get a team into more talks.
