Thomas was drafted fourth overall in the 2006 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers. Thomas was then traded along with forward Viktor Khryapa to the Chicago Bulls for forward-center LaMarcus Aldridge, the second overall pick.

    Bizust!

Take Chicago's offer. The Knicks are crazy if they think McGrady's expiring is worth Hughes, Jeffries and the possiblilty of a swap. Plus I'd love to see the reaction from NYK when we pass. Try and flip Thomas' contract, resign Miller cheap next year as Yao's backup and put Salmon as the SG, move Ariza over to SF and trade Shane.

Without trades or our own 2010 picks...
    Brooks/Lowry
    Salmons/Taylor
    Ariza/Battier/Budringer
    Scola/Landry/Thomas
    Yao/Miller/Hayes/Andersen

Add our own 2010 picks and we are deep with plenty of assets on reasonable contracts to trade.

This is a put up or shut-up for both Chicago and NY.

Both of these teams have been at the forefront of salivating teams waiting for the 2010 free agency feast to commence. The Rockets have that final piece to make the FA a reality. They just have to move on it.

Do you really think Chicago or New York are going to pass up the opportunity to bring in Lebron and Bosh for Luis Scola or Carl Landry? doubtful.

Patience, I feel a trembling break crawling to Morey's feet.

    From D.A TNT:

    http://my.nba.com/cms/110421/t-minus_23_hours_and_counting

THE SEARS TOWER OR THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING?

As of now, no word. The Knicks are apparently reluctant to include both rookie forward Jordan Hill and multiple first-round picks in a trade with Houston for Tracy McGrady, leaving Chicago a head in front for the services of the 30-year-old, who has been working out periodically in Chicago while awaiting word of his new destination.

The Bulls are offering a package believed to include center Brad Miller and swingman John Salmons. Forward Tyrus Thomas may be in the package as well, but many around the league think the Bulls would like to hold him out of this deal and do a separate trade with either San Antonio or Denver for Thomas. The Spurs have coveted Thomas's athletic abilities at the defensive end for more than a year, and have recently told guard Roger Mason they'll try to accommodate his wishes for a trade.

"Last year, Roger averaged 30 minutes a game," said his agent, Mark Bartlestein. "This season, there's just not enough minutes with (Tony) Parker and (Manu) Ginobili healthy."

The "pivotal issue," as a source directly involved in the discussions said Wednesday morning, is how much protection both the Rockets and Knicks get for the draft picks they're putting into the deal. The Knicks have been willing to put their 2012 first-round pick into the trade, and exchange 2011 first-rounders with Houston. But both teams want significant protections on their respective picks. The other players involved--Larry Hughes and Jared Jefferies--are not the issue.

The draft picks, the source said, are the hang-up.

If Houston cannot reach agreement with either team on a trade, which seems unlikely, the Rockets would then probably initiate a buyout of the remainder of McGrady's contract. He would have to be on a team's roster by the first week of March in order to be eligible for postseason play, something that is very important to McGrady if he isn't traded.

This is hilarious. Both teams will do just about anything within reason to have the chance to sign Wade/Lebron. They can posture all they want but before 3 PM tomorrow NY will be begging for us to take Hill if it will get the deal done.

Like I said, Bulls's deal is just a bite for Knicks, if Knicks does not buy it, then likely, Morey will not make this trade. Tmac may still be on the rockets after all.

Not to thrilled to take only Salmons and Miller back. And I don't really see a buyout coming if nothing happens. We shall wait and see

That DA piece says we would buy him out. Is that accurate? That's a gamechanger if true. If so, then I wouldn't give up a pot of piss for T-Mac.

Knicks still in mix for Tracy McGrady, but Rockets want more from them than what's currently on the table -- http://bit.ly/bgvBHD

I was thinking the same thing, take the Chicago deal & move Shane. If we clear Battier's 6 ml, then we could be a player in the free agent market. Ariza would be much better not being a primary score. I would love to see Thomas at the 5 running with Brooks & Lowry.

Me too, their fans seem to think everything is owed to them.

If they don't clear cap space for 2010, they should forget about a combo of Bron/Wade/Amare/Bosh

And if Amare goes to Cleveland, there goes 2 of your options...only leaving Wade and Bosh...and Miami will have the cap space to sign Bosh, and have the rights to Wade...and that only leaves Joe Johnson...and ATL can offer him whatever they want also...

So really...who thinks they have come this far and this close to 2010 to throw it all away because of Jordan Hill and a few protected picks?

Who cares what mcgrady thinks or whats important to him...he should have thought about that a long time ago.

No way the Rockets "buy out" Tmac if a trade does not go through. He is still an asset in a S&T in the offseason, even if it is to a team with cap space in return for a Trade Exception.

Morey isn't going to let an asset not be materialized.

I've said the same thing before. Both teams want to make sure neither get him which is a better deal for both at worst. Not unless they are missing something of course. Either or, they are trying to show their fans they are trying. In the end i dont think it'll work still plenty of time.

They need to give up long term salary to afford the big splash this summer...they (ny or chi) have to make a trade
